Mario is the mascot of Nintendo that debuted as a character in the game Donkey Kong in July 1981. After that it got his own game under the Nintendo banner. The arcade game Mario Bros. came out in 1983 which had Mario as one of the primary characters in the game. The successor of this game was Super Mario Bros. that came out in 1985. The success of these games lead to the games being converted into a franchise. It is now the central series of the greater franchise. At least one SM game has been released for every major Nintendo video game console. The success and influence of this game has been undeniable on pop culture. The game has been very impressionable on 90s kids. So much so that it became a huge IP, even outside the games.
The movies started to come, the first one being in 1993 – Super Mario Bros. Now films were always a hit or a miss. So, for a while we’ve not been getting any Mario film until it was announced that there is a new movie which would by definition would be reboot is coming out next year. What was surprising is the cast that the film has, especially Chris Pratt playing Mario and Anya Taylor-Joy plays Princess Peach. The film is untitled as of now but we had recently gotten an update or a glitch that may have revealed the title of the new film. According to that report, the film’s title is Super Mario Bros which is identical to the live-action Super Mario Bros. film that came out in 1993 which was a critical and commercial bomb. However, today we have a real update about the film, we know the trailer’s premiere date.
Chris Pratt’s Mario Film’s Trailer Will Be Released Soon!
It was recently announced that the trailer or a first look at Chris Pratt’s Mario film will be revealed soon. Illumination and Nintendo jointly announced this today that a teaser trailer for the new film set in the Super Mario Bros. world will be released to fans at the New York Comic Con on October 6 at 4 p.m. ET during the film’s panel. Nintendo first announced that it would collaborate with Illumination and Universal on a new feature-length adaptation of the Super Mario video games in January 2018 with production officially getting underway in 2020.
The voice cast was announced in September 2021. Pratt’s casting was initially met with backlash from fans, particularly because the actor is not Italian. However, Pratt promised fans that the film and his Mario voice will be, “unlike anything you’ve heard in the Mario world before.” Now see I like Chris Pratt and I’d like to believe him as well but also know that he for a fact said that Jurassic World: Dominion was going to be the “baddest” film in the franchise, Even though he didn’t mean it, ironically he was right. I hope the film and trailer are great but I can’t trust Pratt’s words anymore as he can say anything to promote his films.

Along with Chris Pratt playing the lead role, the supporting cast of the film includes Seth Rogen, Anya Taylor-Joy, Charlie Day, Jack Black, Fred Armisen and Charles Martinet. Chris Pratt’s Untitled Movie is slated to release in theatres on 7th April 2023.
