Venom: Let There Be Carnage was directed by Andy Serkis and stars Tom Hardy in the titular role. Now I’d seen Venom 2018. Unlike many critics, I liked the film. It wasn’t a great film but it certainly was an enjoyable film and it did quite well at the box office. With $856 million worldwide, thanks to China where it grossed $269 million which is more than its home collection. Naturally a sequel was announced. And I was excited. Cut to three years later- we get the sequel and it is one of the worst movies of the year. Despite its godawful content, the sequel did manage to earn $502 million worldwide over a budget of $110 million enabling the studio to make a third film. However, it has been two years since the last film and we’ve gotten no updates about the threequel. Thankfully, that changes today as we have gotten a release window for Venom 3.
Venom 3 Is Coming Out Next Year!
Variety reports that Sony Pictures is planning to release Venom 3, the third part of Tom Hardy’s symbiotic trilogy in October 2024. Juno Temple who is a newcomer to the cast of the Venom franchise after her impressive run on Apple TV’s Ted Lasso had said that the filming for the threequel is set to begin very, very soon and she is very thrilled about it. This date also matches with an insider reporter that stated filming would take place in England from June to September. However, we don’t have starting date.
This date also matches with the release dates of the previous two movies in the franchise. Venom released on 5th October 2018 and Venom: Let There Be Carnage released on 1st October 2021.
