Did you have a Winnie the Pooh soft toy in your childhood? It is only natural, Disney had commercialized all our childhood. If you’re up to date on all the adventures of Winnie the Pooh then you must be in love the characters and the world they’re in. So did you ever imagine that there would a horror…nay slasher film with these characters? While I have not been a fan of Disney movies and characters as I didn’t watch them in my childhood. You’d have the agree with me it is not the same when you watch these characters once you’re older. So, I don’t generally concern myself with new Disney releases. However, Winnie the Pooh: Blood and Honey is no Disney film. It may have Disney characters but once you see a glimpse of the film, you realize that this is something different, something Disney would never dare to do.
The first I’d heard about this film was back in October and I thought it was some fan concept or maybe a fan film but this is a proper production which is in the works for sometime now. I can sense the hype around the film, especially for the budget that it has been made in it will earn it back because the curious audience will go to the theatres. You don’t believe me? Okay, then how else do you explain that without even the first film releasing, a sequel has already been announced?
Winnie the Pooh: Blood and Honey 2 Announced!
The official Twitter handle of the film recently posted a new image on Twitter and announced the upcoming sequel for the film. The image is the poster for the forthcoming sequel. The poster is simple enough with a simple black image with a bloodied number two as part of the title — Winnie the Pooh 2 — also features the tag “Friends will gather… To take revenge…” as well as a note of “coming soon.” The image was captioned “More blood. More honey.”
The film had a brief theatrical release at Fathom Events after which it was confirmed that the film will get a few hundred screens for a one night online release. Then, even that release has expanded to the film being set for nearly a week of shows in even more theaters beginning on February 15th. Which means, yes, many people have not seen the original film at the time the sequel is being announced. Check out the official announcement below:

“This film has been on our radar for several months and audience engagement continues to increase at remarkable rates,” added Ray Nutt, CEO of Fathom Events. “We’re excited about our inaugural partnership with ITN to bring horror fans something never seen before in the horror genre. Buckle up.”
The official and latest synopsis of the film reads, “The days of adventures and merriment have come to an end, as Christopher Robin, now a young man, has left Winnie-The-Pooh and Piglet to fend for themselves. As time passes, feeling angry and abandoned, the two become feral. After getting a taste for blood, Winnie-The-Pooh and Piglet set off to find a new source of food. It’s not long before their bloody rampage begins.”
