Black Panther 2: Wakanda Forever is an upcoming American superhero film based on the Marvel Comics and a direct sequel to Black Panther (2018). Produced by Marvel Studios and distributed by Walt Disney Studios Motion Pictures, it is intended to be the 30th film in the Marvel Cinematic Universe. As you might know, unfortunately we lost T’Challa actor Chadwick Boseman to cancer and Marvel Studios decided to honor him by not recasting him. So instead, this film is going to be based on Shuri, W’Kabi, M’Baku, Okoye and the new entrant Ironheart. But Ironheart isn’t the only new entrant, as we now have the first look for Namor, The Sub-Mariner!
Black Panther 2 – Namor The Sub-Mariner Leaked
Namor the Sub-Mariner was one of the first two characters published by Marvel, other one being the Human Torch. But it has been over 80 years and till now we haven’t had a live-action adaptation of Namor. But now fans are going crazy as not only he’s been confirmed to appear in Black Panther: Wakanda Forever, but his first look has also been leaked.
The look is very close to the comics and almost a replica with only a few modifications. So, if you are a sucker for comic accurate looks, then you are going to love this. However, if you dig inspired and creative adaptations, then this one might disappoint you a little as it is very basic and a but dull. But then again, it is highly comic accurate and the second one is based on the latest merch for the film.
The image on the right gives him farrows like helmet along with dragon-like cape and his overall look seems very Mezo-American influenced. The first one, on the other hand, makes him look like a Hercules like Greek God however it clearly has Mezo-American roots. Anyways, you may or may not like the costume, but the Tenoch Huerta who will portray Namor is a very promising choice for the role. Black Panther 2 will be directed by Ryan Coogler just like Black Panther and it is a very challenging task to make a sequel to fill the void created by the demise of Chadwick Boseman.
Black Panther: Wakanda Forever is all set to release on 11th November, 2022.
His look is NOT ancient Greek or Egyptian. It is clearly Mezo-American influenced. Which the Atlanteans of the MCU are vestiges of the lost Mayan/Inca empires… FYI
Noted! Thanks for your input
My first thought on reading the article was … WAAAAAT?
Chinese cape. Seems Egyptian. Greek God.
Methinks the reviewer has no knowledge of history.
