Cinderella 2021’s Blu-ray release date has been officially announced. This past September, Amazon Prime Video released Kay Cannon’s musical adaptation of the classic fairytale. Cinderella, starring Camila Cabello as the main protagonist, presents the legendary princess as an accomplished woman rather than a powerless servant. She doesn’t need a prince to save her, yet romance manages to find her regardless. Idina Menzel plays the wicked stepmother Vivian, while Billy Porter stars as the iconic Fairy Godmother (known as Fab G in the movie).
Along with the release date for Cinderella’s Blu-ray version, Sony Pictures Entertainment has also disclosed a cover art. The Blu-ray, digital, and DVD versions of the film will be available for purchase from June 21. A never-before-seen joke clip will be included in the home release.

In the musical, Cabello is an ambitious young woman with greater aspirations than the world will allow, but with Fab G’s support, she can persevere and achieve her goals. Cinderella boasts an all-star cast, including Idina Menzel, Minnie Driver, Nicholas Galitzine, Billy Porter, and Pierce Brosnan. The movie was written and directed by Kay Cannon with versions of songs penned by some of the top-selling musical artists of all time. James Corden, Leo Pearlman, Jonathan Kadin, and Shannon McIntosh served as producers, while Louise Rosner and Josephine Rose were the executive producers.
Cinderella garnered more positive responses from audiences despite being negatively reviewed by critics. Some praised the film’s inspiring portrayal of Cinderella and welcomed the new modern spin on the traditional story. It came close to winning the Oscar for the best fan-favourite film of 2021. Some fans, on the other hand, criticized Cinderella for attempting to be too distinct from the original. Given that the most recent version of the classic divided critics and fans, watching how the movie performs when it is released on Blu-ray will be interesting.
