Saw X is an upcoming horror movie, belonging to the extremely famous Saw franchise. James Wan totally changed the horror game when he made the first Saw movie in 2004. The innovative nature and success of the first film triggered an entire franchise which might be the most successful long running horror franchise. Saw X is directed by Kevin Greutert who has helmed previous Saw movies. Apart from being the 10th installment of the Saw franchise, Saw X is also the concluding chapter of the trilogy that began with Jigsaw (2018) which was followed by 2021’s Spiral. Saw X’ official synopsis reads,

“Hoping for a miraculous cure, John Kramer travels to Mexico for a risky and experimental medical procedure, only to discover the entire operation is a scam to defraud the most vulnerable. Armed with a newfound purpose, the infamous serial killer uses deranged and ingenious traps to turn the tables on the con artists.” The title might suggest that this is the last of the Saw movies but if you know Hollywood then a franchise never truly dies. So, Saw X will have a post credit scene.

Saw X Post Credit Scene Sets Up The Future!

The concept of post credit scenes was started by Marvel Studios in modern cinema. Giving the audience just one more nugget of the film that teases about the upcoming developments in the franchise. After Marvel, DC also followed the trend and soon post credit scenes became a norm in the superhero genre. However, recently many mainstream Hollywood franchises have also adopted this tradition with Fast X having a post-credits scene where we saw Luke Hobbs’ return. Transformers: Rise of the Beasts added a mid-credits too in order to revive Mirage.

There are still some franchises which opt against the trope. For instance, Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse didn’t have a post-credits, for example. Unlike Across the Spider-Verse, Indiana Jones and the Dial of Destiny, Mission Impossible: Dead Reckoning Part One and Meg 2: The Trench and The Equalizer 3, A Haunting In Venice just like its previous two instalments does have a post credit scene. Producer Mark Burg revealed to Cinepop,“At the end of the film, stay until the end of the credits,” Burg said. “Because there is a scene where we bring back [characters] from previous films that will make you very, very happy.”

Burg didn’t go into great detail about that post-credits scene, but he did heavily hint at Shawnee Smith’s Amanda being a pivotal part of that scene. “If this movie works, you’ll definitely see more of Amanda” Burg added. Watch the full trailer for Saw X on YouTube:
