Dragon Ball Super Manga’s latest arc officially began with Chapter 88 and is being called the “Super Hero” Arc. Granolah Arc, which began back with Chapter 67 has effectively ended with Chapter 87 in August which also brought an end to the battle between the Saiyans and Gas as a part of the Granolah Arc. The Super Hero Arc itself has been divided into two arcs Super Hero prequel arc and the Call Max Arc. The prequel arc concluded with Chapter 90 and chapter 91 – 95 basically covered the first 70 minutes of Dragon Ball Super: Super Hero. This month we’ll be getting Chapter 96 and that is exactly what this article is about as the full raw scans and spoilers of the chapter have been revealed!
Dragon Ball Super Chapter 96 Full Summary and Spoilers
First off, let me start by saying that Dragon Ball Super Chapter 96 Summary and all raw scans have been leaked today! The chapter basically continue the story almost exactly like the Super Hero movie. It just adds a few additional dialogues which give us more insight into what’s happening on screen. The drafts continue the story from Chapter 95’s ending sequence where we saw beaten Piccolo falling down the gorge as he remembers Shenron talking about “throwing in a bit extra”. They cut to Trunks, Bulma, and others talking about what just happened.
But suddenly, we see everyone’s faces go pale and surprised alongside Dr Hedo and Gamma. Yes, they are amazed at Piccolo as he has now transformed to his Orange Piccolo form and looks more menacing than ever. Seeing this Gamma 2 leaps forward and starts hitting him but to no affect as Piccolo doesn’t even shake from his place. Then we see Piccolo beat the crap out of Gamma 2 and those of you who have seen the movie know what awaits you next. One extra detail to note here is that Piccolo has God Ki in his Orange form. This doesn’t come as a big surprise as fans discussed this some time ago on social media.
Dende’s God Ki is still developing, maybe that’s why they’re able to sense him. But Piccolo’s full of God Ki as his power comes directly from Shenron, a godly being. Barring this the chapter goes on exactly like the film. Piccolo and Gohan fight off Gamma 1 and 2 but then the Gamma’s figure out that Red Ribbon Army has been misleading them and hence, they all make up and stop the fighting. Then their brief moment of peace is broken as, even though Dr. Hedo and Hachimaru manage to kill Magenta, he activates Cell Max.
Cell Max comes out and starts charging at any living thing in his sight. Thanks to that we see, Cell Max vs Gammas. While the battle ensues, we see Gohan dropping one of the last two Senzu beans with him and Piccolo. At last, we see Goten and Trunks become transform to their Saiyanman avatars and rush towards Cell Max. The next chapter will begin with Saiyaman X1-X2 vs Cell Max and we might see Gohan transform to Beast Gohan in the same chapter as well! But we’d like to see a bit more battle and context for Gohan’s incredible transformation to make more sense.
DBS Chapter 96 Release Date and Time
As per info provided by trusted sources, Dragon Ball Super chapter 96 is expected to be released on Monday, August 21 in the monthly V-Jump issue. As you may know DBS is serialized in Shueisha’s V-Jump magazine which is released on the 21st of every month, barring a Sunday or holiday. When DBS chapter 96 comes out, fans will be able to read it on Shueisha’s Shonen Jump+ app and Viz Media’s Manga Plus site. The international release time for the manga series’ upcoming chapter is expected to be the following:
- Pacific Time – 8 AM
- Eastern Time – 11 AM
- British Time – 4 PM
- European Time – 5 PM
- India Time – 8:30 PM
- Philippine Time – 11 PM
- Australia Central Time – 12:30 AM
