Fans of Dragon Ball Franchise have been quite patient with the popular anime as the last thing we saw from it was Dragon Ball Super: Broly (2018). With little to no updates on Dragon Ball Super Season 2, fans of the DB anime are eyeing the second DBS film Dragon Ball Super: Super Hero. The good news is that it is all set to release on 11th June 2022, which is just a few days from now. Owing to that, a lot of new promo material and creator comments are circulating and the latest promo showcases the return of one of the most the most sinister characters in Dragon Ball Franchise.
Frieza Returns to Dragon Ball Super… Again
Dragon Ball Super became a little infamous for overusing and nearly spoiling one of the greatest anime villains of all time – Frieza. Frieza (Furīza) first debuted in the Namek Saga of Dragon Ball Z in 1990. But ever since then, Dragon Ball has always found a way to bring him back. After being defeated by Super Saiyan Goku, he returned in Androids Saga and was brutally killed by Future Trunks. Post that, he returned in various Hell cameos throughout Dragon Ball Z.
But Dragon Ball Super took this to a whole new level and resurrected Frieza granting him a new formidable Golden form. After a pretty long battle Goku and Vegeta in their Super Saiyan Blue form managed to kill him again. But Goku brought Frieza back from Hell, and promised Frieza’s life in return for his help in winning the Universe Survival tournament. Since, he helped a great deal in winning the tournament, Frieza was resurrected by Whis and Beerus at the end of Dragon Ball Super Season 1.
To Z fighters’ disdain he’s back now in Dragon Ball Super: Super Hero and the promo above showcases a shot of Frieza towards the end with his classic evil expressions. Goku reckless promises and actions will once again make Universe 7 suffer from the terror that is Frieza, and it doesn’t end there. This will also kickstart a major Dragon Ball Super Season 2 arc called the Granolah the Survivor Arc. Granolah is a Cerealian whose home planet was destroyed by Saiyans under the command of Frieza. So, upon hearing about Frieza’s resurrection, he will be out for revenge which will also make him clash with Goku and Vegeta. That is, of course, if they stay on track with the manga.
Dragon Ball Super: Super Hero, unlike most DB anime, features Gohan and his alter ego Great Saiyanman in the lead. Gohan returned to the action in Dragon Ball Super’s Universe Survival Saga and we have some high hopes for him from here. DBS: SH, as mentioned above, is all set to release on 11th June 2022.
