Dune 2 First Look Released - Austin Butler, Timothee Chalamet, Zendaya and More!

Finally and finally, our eyes have witnessed the very first official images from the sequel of Denis Villeneuve’s sci-fi masterpiece – Dune: Part Two. Dune: Part One was the best film of 2021 for me, so you can understand my excitement regarding the sequel. It was one of the most visually striking films I had seen in decades. The use of sensory imagery in the film was unreal. After a long wait of two years, Villeneuve is taking us back to Arrakis to complete Frank Herbert’s sci-fi saga. I envy the audience at CinemaCon, who were lucky enough to see the trailer of the film. However, Warner Bros. is not as stone-hearted as we thought they’re. They’ve officially released the first look of the film with never before seen images revealing many characters for the first time.

Dune: Part Two- Austin Butler’s Feyd-Rautha Looks Brutal!

The images are mostly of returning characters like Paul and Chani. We get a hint by these images that their relationship is growing. Javier Bardem makes his return as well. Rebecca Ferguson’s Lady Jessica gets a cool look with her sisterhood outfit and tattoo like inscriptions all over her face. An image that was foreshadowed in the first film. Dave Bautista returns as Rabban and his surroundings hint that he is in the middle of a bloody battle. Of course, Stellan Skarsgård’s Baron is makes a comeback looking as filthy and villainous as always.

Florence Pugh’s Princess Irulan is finally revealed to us and she is as elegant as she can be. However, most importantly we finally get a tease at Austin Butler’s Feyd-Rautha.  The hyped villain who we’re all dying to see on the big screen. While his face is not revealed, keeping much of his look hidden what we can make out from the image is that like all Harkonnens, he is bald and wears a black armor. However, he is carrying two lethal knives with him which indicate the threat he poses and foreshadows the final knife battle between him and Paul. Check out all the images below:

Director, Denis Villeneuve said, “DUNE: PART 2’ is not a sequel, it’s a second part.” He further added, “I wanted the movie to really open just where we left the characters. There’s no time jump. I wanted dramatic continuity with part one.”

Dune 2 adds even more faces into the fold, including Florence Pugh as Princess Irulan, Austin Butler as Feyd-Rautha, Christopher Walken as Shaddam IV and Léa Seydoux as Lady Margot. Dune: Part One is available for streaming on HBO Max or Amazon Prime Video depending on the region where you live. Dune: Part Two premieres exclusively in theaters on Nov. 3, 2023.
