Dunki is Rajkumar Hirani’s next directorial venture. The legendary director hasn’t made a film in five years, since, Sanju which was a blockbuster. Hirani has risen to be India’s most popular contemporary director in this last decade as the man has delivered blockbusters after blockbusters. Starting with Munna Bhai M.B.B.S., Lage Raho Munna Bhai, 3 Idiots, PK and Sanju. There is no match to the filmmaker’s blend of comedy and social themes. Dunki will be the first collaboration between Hirani and Shah Rukh Khan. The actor has just delivered two consecutive 1000 crore blockbusters. Dunki Will Become Shah Rukh Khan’s Third Blockbuster Of 2023!
While the exact plot of Dunki is under wraps the official synopsis of the film reads, “Dunki is an upcoming 2023 Indian Hindi-language social comedy-drama film about an illegal immigration technique named ‘Donkey Flight'”. Despite having little to no updates, the film is still sticking to its extended Christmas release. Recent comments from Shah Rukh Khan during Jawan’s promotion have pointed that the film will definitely land on its said release date. Well, if that is the case then expect the trailer to drop somewhere around late November.
If Red Chillies follows their unorthodox marketing strategy then they might not release the “trailer” trailer very soon. They might drop something like a preveu where they get the hype up for the film.
Along with Shah Rukh Khan, Dunki stars Tapsee Pannu, Vicky Kaushal, Satish Shah, Boman Irani and Dia Mirza. Dunki will release in theatres near you on December 22nd, 2023. Jawan is currently playing in theatres near you.
