Echo is an upcoming Marvel show that will start streaming on Disney from next year. The show will focus on Echo aka Maya Lopez who is the adoptive daughter of the Marvel villain Kingpin. The character made her MCU debut in the Disney+ show Hawkeye that came out last year. Since Echo appeared in the show which has a direct connection to Kingpin, Marvel surely was not missing out on the opportunity to officially introduce Kingpin in the MCU. Therefore, they not only introduced him, but revealed that he was the one pulling all the strings in the show. Anyways, the success of Hawkeye paved the way for Echo/Maya Lopez played by Alqua Cox to get a spin off series for herself. And the latest leaks suggest that Kingpin isn’t the only character Echo is bringing back to MCU!
Daredevil, Kingpin, and Punisher Return in Marvel’s Echo As Per Plot Leaks
As you may know, the leaked D23 trailer for Echo confirmed that kingpin is indeed alive after the events of Hawkeye. You can check out the audio trailer and the description right here. The teaser ended with Vincent D’Onofrio back as Wilson Fisk, A.K.A. Kingpin. His eye is bandaged from his last encounter with his surrogate daughter as he says, “It’s been a long time.” Anyways, apart from Kingpin, Echo has some more surprises packed for us, and read on only if you are ready for some major spoilers for the show!
According to certain leaks from GVN, the series will shift from the past to the present. Echo will focus on Maya returning to her hometown to reconnect with her friends and family but old enemies surface and are looking for Maya and Kingpin. The villains of the series will be the Black Knife Cartel who want revenge on both Echo and Kingpin, therefore, Fisk and Maya reunite to stop a common enemy. As you may know, in the comics the Black Knife Cartel was led by the sadistic drug lord, Teodor Zarco and they acted as the suppliers for every known criminal organization in US.
That aside, we will also see in a flashback how a car accident left Maya with only one leg and claimed the life of her mother. But the biggest news is that Charlie Cox is set to return as Matt Murdock aka Daredevil for two episodes. One of those episodes will be a flashback which will showcase how Matt and Maya met for the first time. Charlie Cox will be wearing the red suit he first was seen wearing in the Netflix series. And beware now comes the real bomb!
As per leaks, Matt Murdock aka Daredevil in the present will ask for Maya’s help in locating The Punisher. Exactly why he’s looking for The Punisher is still unknown, but it is pretty clear now that Matt will lead all the street heroes of Marvel and hence connect them all. He’s basically what Doctor Strange and Wong are to the main heroes of the MCU. The story originally was Matt looking for Jessica Jones but due to scheduling conflicts, Krysten Ritter was not able to film. This means Jon Bernthal is back as The Punisher and might play a major role in the upcoming Daredevil: Born Again series.
That’s all for today folks and we hope this article hyped you up a bit! Marvel’s Echo will start streaming on Disney+ in 2023.
