Elemental: Most Underrated Film of 2023 Is Now Ruling Disney Plus!

The story of Disney Pixar’s Elemental is of one of the greatest comebacks in Hollywood history. Ever since Toy Story 4, Pixar has been struggling pretty badly and things did not look good when the first reactions for Elemental came out. The film debuted with a Rotten Score of 57% and was assumed to be another misfire from Disney Pixar. But things turn around thanks to its incredibly positive word of mouth which shot up its critics rating to 74% and audience rating to 93%. Not just that, but Elemental also went on to earn $484M worldwide making it the highest grossing Pixar film of 2020’s. As it happens, it is now also ruling the world of OTT!

Elemental Comebacks Even Harder on Disney Plus!

After winning the hearts of viewers in theatres, Elemental is now also performing exceptionally well on Disney Plus. As reported by Variety, reports the film has become one of the service’s highest-performing titles of 2023. In just first five days since it’s been made available on Disney Plus, Elemental has attracted 26.4 Million views. The film has far surpassed The Little Mermaid‘s own impressive debut, which up 16 million views. As a result Elemental currently holds Disney Plus’ best 2023 movie debut, alongside the best animated opening after Turning Red in 2022.

Just when the industry was beginning to believe that viewers are done with these Disney movies, Elemental proved all the skeptics wrong. But what makes Elemental special? First of all, it is seriously a breath of fresh air in this overcrowded action and comic book movie  era. Although, its plot acts out like a typical Pixar film, it offers a lot of creativity; incredibly colorful and mesmerizing visuals; symbolic social commentary; and a brilliant use of 3D effects. The film’s world building is one of its strongest points and that makes the first half exceptional. And although, it doesn’t impress as much in the second half with its formulaic approach but it still elevates itself visually which ultimately makes it a pretty satisfying endeavour.

Elemental ‘s score and album is composed by the legendary composer Thomas Newman which is another highlight of the film. It has almost everything one expects of a Pixar film – lots of creativity, some heartful tearjerker moments, and a few meaningful life lessons. Keeping a few faults aside, the film really set Pixar back on track and is surely the most visually spellbinding and satisfying films since Avatar: Way of Water. So, if you have been planning on watching this film for a while, now is the time and this time would be most well spent with your family.

here’s to hoping Elemental breaks even more records and reaches to as many people as possible.
