FX’s hit series Fargo Season 5 promises a stellar cast and another chapter of deceit, crime, and thrill. Fargo explores the lives and crimes of several characters in different decades, all the events around the hinterlands eventually lead to the town of Fargo, North Dakota. The upcoming Season 5 is also set in the Upper Midwest, however, this time instead of murder, the plot will focus on a kidnapping. Here’s everything we know about Fargo Season 5.

The official synopsis of Fargo Season 5 reads, “Fargo has traveled through decades, cities and families, and the fifth installment will be no different: Set in 2019, when is a kidnapping, not a kidnapping, and what if your wife isn’t yours?” The cast and characters of season five of Fargo include:

Season 5 is expected to follow Sheriff Roy Tillman, trying to catch seemingly ordinary woman Dorothy Lyon. Meanwhile, Tillman also has to deal with his relationship with his son Gator, who is struggling to live up to his father’s expectations. While, Dorothy attempts to conceal her past from his family, her husband Wayne loves her too much to stay away from her situation and enlists the help of his mother, Lorraine, the CEO of the most revered Debt Collection Agency in the country. With the law enforcement closing on her, Dorothy accepts her mother-in-law’s help and, she in turn assigns her advisor Danish Graves to the case. However, there’s certainly a promise of Fargo‘s signature elements of twisted storylines, intricate characters, and dark humor enclosed in a modern Western narrative.
The first three seasons of Fargo had 10 episodes each and the fourth season had 11. Though there is no official update on the number of episodes, IMDb lists 10 episodes for the fifth season.
Release Date of Fargo Season 5
We finally have an official date for Fargo Season 5, with the potential season set to premiere its first two episodes on November 21, 2023, at 10 p.m. ET/PT, on FX. With the Hollywood strikes, it initially seemed like Season 5 could get pushed back to 2024. Fargo Season 5 will be airing weekly on FX, with new episodes becoming available for streaming on Hulu the next day.
Jon Hamm will next be appearing in the third season of The Morning Show and the upcoming FOX animated sitcom Grimsburg. Jennifer Jason Leigh recently appeared in Hunters Season 2 and will be next seen in Chris Pine’s directorial debut movie, Poolman. Juno Temple will be in the upcoming Venom sequel.
