The supernatural horror film Five Nights at Freddy’s is directed by Emma Tammi and based on the video game franchise of the same name. The film stars Josh Hutcherson, Mary Stuart Masterson, Elizabeth Lali, Matthew Lillard, and Piper Rubio. A troubled security guard Mike Schmidt accepts a night-time job at Freddy Fazbear’s Pizza. It is a once-successful however, now abandoned entertainment center where he discovers its four animatronic mascots – Freddy Fazbear, Chica, Bonnie, and Foxy. As the world was celebrating the film in theatres, Amazon unveiled pre-orders for Universal Pictures’ Five Nights at Freddy’s, revealing that the Emma Tammi directorial will be available for purchase online on Tuesday, November 28th, 2023. Despite the awesome success that the film has tasted, this marks only a 34 days between the FNAF movie’s theatrical to streaming release date and its online release date. The film will bear a price tag of $19.99 USD.
The film initially hit Peacock on October 26 at 8 p.m. ET to coincide with its Thursday night previews in theaters, with Universal utilizing a dual-release strategy for this new video-game-inspired movie. Overall, Universal can count this film as one of the many successes the studio has had this year despite their unconventional release strategy.
