Godzilla Minus One will be out in North America next month. Presenting a far from friendly, killer kaiju, a new trailer has arrived that further shows the reign of Godzilla’s destruction. The film won’t be bringing back any earlier iterations of the beat, with the earlier entry in Japan being Shin Godzilla. Instead, the film will revolve around a new Godzilla making landfall in Japan following the events of the Second World War.
Godzilla Minus One New Horrifying Trailer
Godzilla Minus One features a stellar Japanese cast, including Ryunosuke Kamiki as Koichi Shikishima and Yuki Yamada as Shiro Mizushima. Others involved are Munetaka Aoki as Sosaku Tachibana, Sakura Ando as Sumiko Ota, Hidetaka Yoshioka as Kenji Nada, Minami Hamabe as Noriko Oishi, and Kuranosuke Sasaki as Yoji Akitsu. Toho describes the film as, “After the war, Japan’s economic state has been reduced to zero. Godzilla appears and plunges the country into a negative state.”
As the rumors, trailer, and synopsis suggest, Zilla is not a savior. This is a mutated version of the character, rumored to be woken up by an atomic bomb. Being furious about the bombing, Zilla comes to Japan to cause complete annihilation. Godzilla is no longer the protector we have known the character to be in the recent MonsterVerse movies. A common rumor on forums and social media is that the film will include two Godzilla. One will be a terrifying mutated one and another Godzilla will show up to stop the mutated Godzilla.
The film arrived in theatres in Japan on November 3rd and soon will be released in North America on December 1st. The next Legendary MonsterVerse movie The New Empire will hit theatres on April 12, 2024.
