While Disney+’s 2023 Goosebumps series hasn’t been out for over a week yet, half of Season 1 is available to fans. The beginning of the series depicted the story’s characters facing particular totems that eventually lead to them experiencing horror stories. However, would Goosebumps see the green light for Season 2?
Plot and Cast of Goosebumps Season 2
Goosebumps Season 2 plot is a mystery and will be difficult to predict until Season 1 ends. However, Pavun Shetty and Conon Welch, executive producers of the show’s reboot revealed to MovieWeb which R.L. Stine Goosebumps books they want to adapt for season two. “We do tap into Night of the Living Dummy a little bit in season one, it’s not a standalone story in this, but Slappy is a part of the series, a big part, and so it was exciting to pull from those books, but not directly as far as the original and second one [Night of the Living Dummy II] went.” Shetty explained, “So I honestly think there’s a lot more to pull from Night of the Living Dummy moving forward.”
The core cast members of Goosebumps would likely stay. Speaking with Comicboook.com, producer Conor Welch said, “We lucked out so significantly with the cast that we were able to assemble for this show.” Conor said, “These five relatively unknown young adult actors just immediately found a chemistry and were able to play into their very natural and organic dynamics they had within the group.”
Keeping this in mind, we can also assume Season 2 cast will see the return of Will Price as Lucas, Rachael Harris (Lucifer) as Lucas’s Mom, Nora, Miles McKenna (Nocturne) as James, Ana Yi Puig (Gossip Girl) as Isabella, Zack Morris (EastEnders) as Isaiah, and Isa Briones (Picard) as Margot. Until the show is renewed, any kind of news is pure speculation.
When Will It Come Out?
Given that the SAG-AFTRA strike is still on until they get a fair contract from producers and networks that include Disney+, it might take some time. If the show is renewed the Goosebumps Season 2 release date could arrive in 2024. However, until Disney shows a green signal for season two, this is just an assumption.
Goosebumps Season 1 is now streaming on Disney+.
