Halloween Ends Trailer Gets a Release Date!Halloween Ends: Trailer Gets a Release Date!

John Carpenter stunned the world in 1978 with his film Halloween. The film had a psycho killer on the loose called Michael Myers who attacked teens. While the premise of the film may seem derivative now it was pretty fresh back in the day. Additionally, the film had a score designed by John Carpenter who also helmed the film. The score was so haunting that it is used even to this day to evoke fear. Even if you haven’t seen the film, I’m sure you’ve heard the score unknowingly. The cinematography, the music, the setting everything worked in the film’s favor. The film has a cult status and is hailed by many to be one of the best horror films ever. Sadly, the same cannot be said about the sequels. Considering the success of Halloween, a sequel was announced and so on and so forth. Now another sequel called Halloween Ends is all set to arrive soon.

There were in total 7 sequels to Halloween – Halloween II, Halloween III: Season of the Witch, Halloween 4: The Return of Michael Myers, Halloween 5: The Revenge of Michael Myers, Halloween: The Curse of Michael Myers, Halloween H20: 20 Years Later and Halloween: Resurrection. Although barring the 2nd one all of the others felt like they were heading more and more away from John Carpenter’s vision. To the point where the sequels felt like cheap parodies of the first. Many believed the Halloween Franchise was dead until it was resurrected or rather rebooted. In 2018, we got Halloween – a direct sequel to the 1978 film ignoring all the sequels. The film had good critical reception, rare for a Halloween film. Seeing the success of the same, a sequel was in the works.

Last year we got the sequel – Halloween Kills. Sadly it was nothing like its predecessor and again fell into the pit of terrible Halloween movies. Though as it was part of the Halloween IP so the box office performance was good. Seeing this the studio went ahead with their original plan of a trilogy. The last film in this trilogy is slated to release this year but we still haven’t got a teaser or trailer. Although I think that is about to change soon.

Jaime Lee Curtis teases Halloween Ends Trailer Release Date?

Jaime Lee Curtis was the star of the Halloween Franchise but she was so frustrated with the sequels that she begged the studio to kill her character. The studio agreed to it but she made a comeback to the franchise with 2018’s Halloween. She reprised her role last year in the sequel as well. The 2018 film was directed by David Gordon Green but he didn’t direct the sequel which was a nightmare so learning from their mistakes, the studio has brought back Green to direct the last film in the franchise.

This is good news for the fans. Having said that, what isn’t a good news is the lack of trailer for the film. However, the star of the franchise- Jaime Lee Curtis recently tweeted something that hints at a release date for the trailer. It is sooner than you think.

The jack-o’-lantern has been a staple of the Halloween Franchise for years. The symbol with the date of 20th July along with it suggests only one thing. While Halloween and Halloween Kills happened on one night and were pretty close to each other, Halloween Ends will be set four year after those events. The director of the film- David Gordon Green in 2021 commented about the film,

I would say that Halloween Ends is a more intimate movie where we were able to curate some of the aftermath of the chaos. So some of the characters… will have processed the insanity of the circus of the massacre of 2018. And not only that, but they’ve also processed the world as it’s spun so wildly in the last four years. In a lot of ways, it’s a coming of age story.”

Halloween Ends is slated to release on 14th October 2022.
