Witcher is how we started and Witcher is how we seek to make a comeback!
Netflix and CD Project Red brought to us the first ever Witchercon on 9th July, 2021. Though it was a virtual event, it wasn’t a vain one as it brought to us some much awaited information about the future of the Witcher universe.
Big things first, check out the new poster and first teaser trailer for Netflix’ The Witcher Season 2!
The teaser came with an official release date for Season 2, that is 17th December, 2021 and brings back our beloved characters: Geralt of Rivia (Henry Cavil), Princess Cirilla (Freya Allen), Yeneffer (Anya Chalotra) and Jaskier (Joey Batey), along with certain new ones. This madly hyping teaser finally takes us to the much awaited Kaer Morhen (Witcher’s Den), where we’ll probably see some training montages and action sequences. Kaer Morhen is one of the most important parts of the Witcher universe and seeing glimpses of it in the trailer was, no doubt, a treat for the fans.
Its mostly focused on Geralt and Ciri’s relationship but we did get a glance at other characters. Newcomers which can be spotted in the teaser include certain key Witchers like Lambert, Eskel, a black Witcher (we don’t know who) and keen eyed fans can spot Vesemir too. There is quick peek at Yeneffer, Dandellion, Fringilla and Tissaia from season 1 as well for a few milli-seconds. Many other key characters from season one including Triss, Cahir and Vilgefortz were missing from the teaser but are confirmed to return.
The cinematography, like the first season, looks gorgeous and the sound design of the trailer is just so damn fitting. Henry Cavil and his voice seem as amazing as they were in the previous season. One thing’s for sure, Henry Cavil’s passion about the Witcher universe has the potential to take his character and as well as this series to a whole new level.
That’s not it, as a separate post at the Witchercon showcased a new look for our beloved bard Jaskier (Dandellion). Guess what? It’s game accurate!
The episode titles for the first seven of the eight episodes were also revealed and are as follows:
Episode 1 – A Grain of Truth Episode 2 – Kaer Morhen Episode 3 – What Is Lost Episode 4 – Redanian Intelligence Episode 5 – Turn Your Back Episode 6 – Dear Friend Episode 7 – Voleth Meir
The poster and trailer for The Witcher – Nightmare of the Wolf was also showcased at the Witchercon. This 2D prequel animated film is all set to release on 23rd August, 2021 only on Netflix. Have a look at it!
