Indiana Jones and the Dial of Destiny Box Office Predictions Are Out

Indiana Jones and The Dial of Destiny has a 50% rating on Rotten Tomatoes which is the worst score of the franchise. This also means that Dial of Destiny is the first of the franchise which falls into the “Rotten” category on Rotten Tomatoes. For comparison, these are the Rotten Tomatoes scores of past IJ films: Raiders of the Lost Ark: 93%, Temple of Doom: 76%, Last Crusade: 84% and Indiana Jones and the Kingdom of the Crystal Skull: 77%. Well, some of you might say it doesn’t matter what the critical reception might be but it seems like it is starting to rub off on the box office collections of the film. Dial of Destiny isn’t opening as big as you’d imagined.

There Is No Hype For Indiana Jones and the Dial of Destiny!

Steven Spielberg and George Lucas’ brainchild seems to have generated no hype at the box office at all. The last film of IJ franchise was roasted by fans and critics alike. The box office performance of the film was disappointing as well. However, it seems like the new film will perform even worse. A new report from The Hollywood Reporter predicts that Dial of Destiny will have  $60-$70 million domestic opening weekend for the new movie.

Compared to the $100 million taken by Crystal Skull in its first three days of release in 2008. Kingdom of the Crystal Skull ended up taking in $317 million domestically after its big Memorial Day opening. These news come to us around the same time when we have been hearing rumors of Indiana Jones 5 being the costliest film ever to be produced by Lucasfilm. Bearing a pricetag of $294.7 million. Certainly not an ideal way kick off the box office run. Indiana Jones and The Dial of Destiny is scheduled to release on 30th June 2023.
