James Bond – Aaron Taylor-Johnson Debunks Casting Rumors

After the departure of Daniel Craig from the James Bond project, the role will be offered to a new actor. Craig has made it clear that he’s not following the casting procedure to find the successor for this role. When asked about his replacement in 2021 he said, “I don’t really pay it any attention…I just, it’s a lot of noise. I don’t really go on the Internet, I don’t have a social media account or whatever it’s called…it is what it is.” He was asked about how fun the next Bond project will be. The actor clarified, “Yeah, of course, I’ll be front and center.”

Aaron Taylor Johnson Addresses James Bond Rumors

One of the front-runners and favorites of many for the 007 role is Aaron Taylor-Johnson. Earlier this year, it was reported Taylor-Johnson met the producers of James Bond regarding his stepping into the role. Amidst all the conjectures regarding the available role, Taylor-Johnson played coy in the latest Esquire cover story. “I’ve spent two years making Kraven [Kraven the Hunter]. So all that hard work we put into trying to get that to where it is – that’s where I’m at right now,” he told the magazine. “I just focus on the things I can have in my hands right now. What’s in front of me right now.”

Kraven the Hunter is the visceral story about how and why one of Marvel’s most iconic villains came to be. Set before this notorious vendetta with Spider-Man, Aaron Taylor-Johnson stars as the titular character in the R-rated film. In addition to Taylor-Johnson as a hunter, the film will feature the horn-headed supervillain Rhino aka Aleksei Sytsevich. Taylor-Johnson leads a cast that includes Ariana DeBose as Calypso, Fred Hechinger as Kraven’s half-brother, Dmitri Smerdyakov as Chameleon, and Russell Crowe as Nikolai Kravinoff (Kraven’s father).

Kraven the Hunter will be in the theatres next August 30, 2024.
