Even after being a classic assassin story, John Wick (2014) brought a lot of new things to the table. The Gun-Fu action style it showcased became a USP of John Wick and so did Keanu Reeves’ portrayal of the character. Well, as expected the tremendous success of the film launched a franchise which debuted John Wick: Chapter 2 in 2017, and JW: Chapter 3 – Parabellum in 2019. Both these films opened to tons of critical acclaim and were praised for being consistent in quality. John Wick: Chapter 4 is another qualitative film which upped the franchise’s already incredible action sequences, however, it’s over the top unrealism ultimately made John a superhero with absolutely no bones in his body. Anyways, all that would be covered in our review which wis coming in a few hours. Till then, we have something else for you!
Yes, John Wick: Chapter 4 Has A Post Credit Scene!
Post credit scenes have been popularized by the superhero genre of films but John Wick franchise hasn’t ever put it to use. That was until now as John Wick 4 has a post credit scene at the very end of the credits. Most of us expected it to be either about the fate of John Wick or the upcoming film in the franchise called, “Ballerina” starring Ana De Armas. However, none of them were the case and the post credit scene instead hinted at the fate of the other side characters in the film. MAJOR SPOILERS follow below, so proceed at your own risk! So, in case you missed the John Wick 4 post credit scene, watch it below and find a description attached below as well.
So, if you have seen the film, you know how Donny Yen’s Caine was absolutely the MVP of the film. Not only did character kick some serious a**, his character also had a lot of depth compared to most of the others in the franchise. Unfortunately and un-wantingly, he had to agree to work for the table which ultimately led him to kill Hiroyuki Sanada’s Shimazu as well as Keanu Reeves’ John Wick by the end of the film. Obviously, his reasons and motivations aside, for Akira he was the one who killed her father Shimazu and she now seeks revenge.
Earlier in the film, she asked John to kill Caine but John clearly failed at that, so it seems like she had to take matters in her own hand. In the post credit scene of John Wick 4 we see Caine walking with flowers, possibly towards his daughter who is playing Cello. But before he could reach her, he is approached by Akira who takes out a pocket knife and this is where the scene ends. This basically suggests that the trail of revenge and death never ends especially when John Wick is involved. Even after his suggested death, people he knew are still facing the consequences of his actions.
