Lightyear: Toy Story Spin-Off's Streaming Release Date on Disney Plus

Lightyear follows the story of the fan favorite Toy Story character, Buzz Lightyear as he embarks on an intergalactic adventure with a group of ambitious recruits and his robot companion. It has been directed by Angus MacLane and features the MCU fame actor Chris Evans as the titular character. While Lightyear wasn’t at all a bad movie, it failed to match the quality or nostalgia of Toy Story trilogy. This is something that Toy Story 4 did wonderfully even after being released years after the original trilogy. But still, it deserves much much more than just 5.9 on IMDB, as it got review bombed and is an easy 7/10 for me. It was beautiful is parts and messy in the others but it surely a one time watch for all audience. So, if you too were skeptical about seeing it on theatres but are waiting for its streaming release, we have some incredible news for you!

Lightyear Disney Plus Release Date

Lightyear: How Many Post-Credit Scenes Are There? Explained

Pixar’s Latest Toy Story film Lightyear is all set make its streaming debut on 3rd August which is just two weeks away now! Pixar took to Twitter to announce the film and stated “Get ready to blast off with Disney and Pixar’s #Lightyear streaming August 3 only on @DisneyPlus“.

It was shame that the theatre I went to watch this film in was nearly empty and it was able to earn just $213 million at the worldwide box office. Well, if you rationally analyze, these numbers aren’t that bad, however expectation were a bit higher for this film. Anyways, this doesn’t mean it was a bad film, as I would once again like to repeat that everyone should watch this movie at least once. It’s worth a watch and now that it is arriving on streaming platforms, JUST WATCH IT!

While on the subject, the director Angus MacLane urged the audience to watch it on Disney Plus and stated, “Lightyear looks amazing on the big screen, of course, but we are so excited to bring it to Disney+. We devoted years of our lives to this film and we are so proud of it. We want to share it with as many people as possible. Disney+ not only gives more fans an opportunity to see Lightyear, it gives us all the means to see it again and again.”

Lightyear released in cinemas on 17th June and if you are lucky enough, you might still be able to catch it in theatres.
