Man of Steel 2

Zack Snyder’s Man of Steel starred Henry Cavill in the lead role of Superman or Kal-El. The film focused on the last son of Krypton and he has found a new life on Earth. However, the survivors of Krypton see Earth as a replacement of Krypton. No one is powerful enough to defeat the Kryptonians except for Superman. He must make a choice between his past and his present. The film had an amazing supporting cast like Amy Adams, Russell Crowe, Diana Lane, Kevin Costner, Michael Shannon and Laurence Fishburne. The film was not critically acclaimed however, the fans loved it and they loved Henry Cavill as Superman. The film was made on a budget of $225-$258 Million and it made $668 Million on the global box office. The film was under the banner of Warner Bros. and DC.

As the film was profitable, a sequel was in the works. The original plan when the movie was in development was to create a Superman trilogy like Nolan’s Dark Knight trilogy. However, in the mean time considering the success of the Marvel Cinematic Universe, Warner Bros. decided to change plans and start making a universe right away. So, they changed the Man of Steel sequel to a Batman vs Superman movie, where they could introduce various superheroes of this universe like Batman, Wonder Woman, Flash, Aquaman, and Cyborg. However, the plan backfired as Dawn of Justice didn’t work out that well critically but it was once again profitable. After that I think we’re all aware of Justice League crisis of 2017. How Snyder faced a personal tragedy and Whedon took over and ruined his vision, only for fans to erupt.

After years of campaigning, fans got to see Snyder’s version of the Justice League. However, between everything that was happening, Warner Bros. forgot the very first thing they’d set out to do- a Superman trilogy. Fans have been craving for a sequel for years but that have received nothing but disappointment. However, it looks there is hope after all.

Cavill’s Witcher Exit Suggests Man of Steel 2 Is Going Into Production?

In a discussion on his YouTube show, John Campea deduced why a Man of Steel 2 is really further along in development than we might think. His deductions were based on the fact Liam Hemsworth replaced Henry Cavill in the Witcher series. His main concern was why did the announcement was made now? When the third season of the show isn’t even out yet. Why could this announcement not have made before the series was supposed to go into production for its 4th Season? This is a valid point.

Campea said, “Here’s where it makes me think a little something fishy. Why did they need to announce Liam Hemsworth now? A friend of mine texted me and said, you know, ‘There was absolutely no need to announce Liam Hemsworth right now. You could have announced that in a few months, unless they’re planning on going into production on Season 4 real soon.’ Like imminently soon. And if that’s the case, you’ve got to announce Liam Hemsworth now.”

He further continued, “Okay, if that’s true, and we don’t know that it is, but if that’s true and they needed to announce Liam Hemsworth now, because they are going to be fast-tracking Season 4 moving into production that real, real soon, it could be that with all these announcements about Superman that they– ’cause Rob, we have both heard that they are a lot closer to shooting a new Superman thing than anybody is being led on to believe. And if that’s the case, then it’s not that one doesn’t have time to play multiple roles, it’s just that if something’s going to be shooting at the same time…”

Campea finally concluded with, “So this could mean two things. Number one, that they’re going to be shooting Season 4 real damn soon. And number two, they could be going into production on a Superman movie by February or March. Again, neither of which do we know to be true or a fact, but I’m just saying the speculation is there. So while I initially completely dismissed the idea that Henry leaving The Witcher had anything to do with Superman, there might be a correlation. There that might be a causality there, right?”

Let me know what do you think of this assumption. Man of Steel 2 isn’t officially announced yet. Man of Steel is currently available for streaming on Amazon Prime Video or HBO Max.
