Sony’s original games are some of the best games ever made with loads of Game Awards titles to their names. One such game is Marvel’s Spider-Man (2018) which was highly praised for its incredible VFX, open world, and insane swing mechanics which made users feel like Spidey themselves. Then, in 2020 we got its spin-off called Spider-Man: Miles Morales which was equally praised however was criticized a bit for its short length. Since then fans have been eagerly waiting Marvel’s Spider-Man 2 which is all set to release this year, probably during fall. Well, today we have an awesome updates for you guys!
Marvel’s Spider-Man 2 Plot Leaks – Kraven, Venom and More
As Spider-Man 2 nears its release, the hype around it is gradually rising and this hype gives birth to a lot of leaks and rumors. A few days ago, we got a leak that the game will include references to Sony’s Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse universe and hint at a multiverse. Then we also got another industry insider leak which claimed that the game will arrive in second week of September. Today, we have some incredible plot leaks courtesy of a 4chan board which were considered credible enough to be later posted to r/GamingLeaksAndRumours. So, here are some of the plot details for Marvel’s Spider-Man 2 as per these leaks. Of course, some MAJOR SPOILERS follow below.
Game starts out with Peter and Miles trying to locate a serial killer. Pete suggests Miles should leave the legwork to him since those kinds of situations are extremely delicate. This foreshadows their conflict in dealing with Venom and Kraven. The Venom symbiote sneaks onto Peter while he and MJ reunite with Harry. Norman Osborn hires Kraven in relation to the symbiote and Miles abilities.
Eventually Kraven rejects the contract due to it’s limitations on the tactics he can employ and engages Spider-Man like he’s a new challenge. This pisses Norman the hell off. Kraven summons his henchmen to help him draw Peter and Miles out. “Crimes” from his henchmen include jumping in on rooftop camps and masked POIs that are actually traps and ambushes set by them.
That aside, there are playable sections with Eddie Brock. Devs took player feedback on the MJ and Miles sections on the first game and there’s a lot less shoehorned stealth. It’s basically a walking simulator while you see the environment of NYC and the antics of Spider-Man and his villains from the perspective of a normal person. There are significantly more cutscenes and screen time of characters interacting without Peter/Miles being present then the first game. More non-protagonist present scenes than a video game would usually have.
That’s it from this set of leaks. How reliable they are? Well, I’d say that being 4chan leaks, they have 50% probability of being right and that is also keeping it on the higher side. Although a lot of these leaks align with previous leaks and the expected storyline, it’s finally up to you if you choose to believe them or not. As for the anonymous leaker, they claimed that Kraven’s surname will be spelt as “Kravinov” rather than “Kravinoff” and this can be considered as a future verification of their leak.
Marvel’s Spider-Man 2 is all set to debut exclusively for PlayStation 5 in 2023.
