Sony made fans root for any updates on Marvel’s Spider-Man 2 till May 2023, but since then the promotion and marketing has been all over the place. Not a week goes by, when we do not hear something exciting about the game. Just a week ago, we came across the early reviews of the game, which were nothing short of glorious. We saw some critics calling it the best superhero game ever made, while others calling it the most rewarding and coolest game ever made. This doesn’t come as a surprise as Sony has perfected the sequel formula. This was made clear by The Last of Us 2, Miles Morales, God of War: Ragnarok, and Horizon Forbidden West. Anyways, today, we have some really big spoilers for the game, which some of you might not appreciate, so read at your own risk.
Marvel’s Spider-Man 2 All Plot Details and Leaked Quests So Far
Since the game is already available for testing, a lot of plot details and quest lines have been leaked. A week ago, all the trophies for Spider-Man 2 were leaked which offered more insights into the game, and now many quest screenshots have been leaked revealing further details about the game’s story. Here are all the leaked quest lines we have encountered so far. MAJOR SPOILERS courtesy of r/SpidermanPS4 follow below, so read at your own risk.
- Make Your Own Choices – Find Black Cat and Warn Her About Kraven
- Bad Guys of the Block – Find the people who took Martin Lee and Scorpion.
- Master Illusionist – Ensure Mysterio is safe from Kraven and his Hunters
- Trouble With Harry – The Symbiote has taken over Harry. Need to find and save him. (Confirm here)

These quests confirm two things – Kraven is coming for everyone and yes, Harry Osborn is indeed going to be Venom in Marvel’s Spider-Man 2. As for the leaked plot summary, the game starts out with Peter and Miles trying to locate a serial killer. The game is set six months after the events of Miles Morales (which ends in-universe on January 30, 2020). So, SM2 takes place around July/August 2020. Pete suggests Miles should leave the legwork to him since those kinds of situations are extremely delicate. This foreshadows their conflict in dealing with Venom and Kraven.
The Venom symbiote sneaks onto Peter while he and MJ reunite with Harry. Peter Parker gets his Black symbiote suit and the suit starts to take control of him as Peter seems very dismissive towards Miles and his friends. Peter could be seen going towards the dark side as he starts being extra violent, lacking compassion after rescuing a victim and developing a bit of arrogance. Anyways, both Peter and Miles seem to be trying to find a cure for Harry Osborn with Connors help. Norman Osborn finds out about Symbiote and hires Kraven in relation to the symbiote and Miles abilities.
Eventually Kraven rejects the contract due to it’s limitations on the tactics he can employ and engages Spider-Man like he’s a new challenge. This pisses Norman the hell off. Kraven summons his henchmen to help him draw Peter and Miles out. “Crimes” from his henchmen include jumping in on rooftop camps and masked POIs that are actually traps and ambushes set by them. Kraven goes after everyone including Black Cat, Martin Li, Scorpion, and Mysterio (confirmed by quest leaks). We do not have more information about the fate of Kraven but in the end, Harry becomes Venom (confirmed by quest leaks).
Over the course of the game you see him and Peter becoming more and more distant and Harry comes to be jealous of him and hate him. Venom starts ‘spreading’ bits of symbiote around the city and infecting other people, which is where he says “we’re going to heal the world” (which is another thing the old leaker got correct). We see a Big Peter and Miles vs Venom fight. Peter gets mortally wounded and almost dies while Miles convinces Martin Li, who is remorseful and wants to make things right after everything he’s done, to help. Martin uses his powers on Peter to try and heal him, and the energy mutates the bits of symbiote still in Peter and he becomes Anti-Venom.
The final part of the game is Anti-Venom (Peter) fighting against Symbiotes (confirmed by Trophy leaks). Then there’s a big final battle against Venom where Harry eventually dies in the battle. Now this part is a bit shady as according to new leaks, Norman is enraged and the Green Goblin is revealed in the post-credits (not reliable). Anyways, you get to still use Symbiote powers in the post-game because Peter is now Anti-Venom, and rage mode turns him into Anti-Venom rather than the rage black suit. That is all we know so far. Marvel’s Spider-Man 2 is all set to release on October 20, 2023 exclusively for PS5.
