Marvel has been known to hire actors who aren’t a household name and make them superstars but since their status risen to the stars, they’re actually considering attaching big names to themselves and exploit their IP to grow even bigger. With Eternals, Moon Knight and the recent Marvel movies drawing big names from Hollywood like Oscar Isaac and Angelina Jolie. The most recent rumor of an addition of a big fish being sucked into the orbit of the Marvel Cinematic Universe is the star of Oscar winning movies like La La Land, Blade Runner 2049 and fan favorites like Drive, The Notebook, etc. He will also be playing Ken in the upcoming Barbie movie directed by Greta Gerwig. Yes you are right, it’s – Ryan Gosling. We could soon see the Canadian actor as a part of the MCU. Rumors suggests his association with a Nova project, that is in development.
So, are the rumors true? Let’s find out.
Which MCU Character does Ryan Gosling Wants to Play?
The Canadian actor was promoting his upcoming Netflix movie The Gray Man directed by the Russo Brothers. On a podcast while the promotions were going on he addressed the rumors of him joining Marvel. The actor was quick shoot down the any such rumors. He even revealed the role of Nova doesn’t interest him. He also committed that he’d be more inclined towards some other roles. The role was previously played by another Hollywood star – Nicholas Cage.
Yeah, you guessed it. Ryan Gosling admitted he’d be interested in playing Ghost Rider, if had to play a Marvel character. Ryan Gosling was even considered to for the roles of Doctor Strange, Joker in Suicide Squad and Lone Ranger. Although, all those roles went to different actors. So, this might be a good opportunity for Marvel to bring in Ryan Gosling into their Cinematic Universe. Although, this might be another actor lying to us as instructed by Marvel to hide his association with the Nova Project.

This could be what Marvel needs after two movies that were critically grilled. The directionless void that the MCU is in right now could be sidetracked for a while by signing one of the biggest names in Hollywood for playing the most iconic Marvel superheroes. This not only would be helpful to Marvel’s image but could be a valuable addition to the MCU as it is currently investing heavily the magical side of their comics with projects like Moon Knight and Blade.
Both series star great actors like Mahershala Ali and Oscar Isaac. Marvel recently filed for a mysterious LLC for a streaming series referencing the Danny Keitch version of Ghost Rider, indicating the character is on Marvel’s radar. So, this could just happen as we’re speaking. Let me know your thoughts on this important update. Are you excited to see Ryan Gosling in the MCU?
