MCU’s Moon Knight director Mohamed Diab spoke in a recent interview about the potential of a second season. The unconfirmed Disney Plus’s Moon Knight Season 2 rumors have circulated based on basic evidence. However, there’s been no official confirmation of the rumors. In August 2022 Diab’s post said, at that point, “no talk about a future for the character yet.” Then, in October, Oscar Isaac said “There have been some specific conversations,” but he later clarified that “at the moment, there’s no official word.”
Director Mohamed Diab On Moon Knight Season 2
In an interview with Arabic Marvel (translated by The Cosmic Circus), director Diab confirmed six episodes of the show were promised. “Marvel had determined it from the first day. Marvel’s series projects are all six episodes except for special projects like ‘WandaVision.’ The usual format is six episodes. ‘Loki’ is the only series they said will be in two parts from the first day.”
“Marvel’s way is not the usual way where if the project succeeds, I say let’s renew it for a second season. It’s their plan, successful or not, they have a plan,” Diab continued.
Interestingly, there was a cliffhanger post-credit scene at Season 1’s end, though there was no confirmation of Season 2. A post-credit scene like the one in Moon Knight‘s sixth episode hints potential of another season. There is a major loose thread in Jake Lockley that hints the show might explore that aspect in the future. Now, the confirmed Season 2 will address the post-credit scene in the show.
Moon Knight is currently streaming on Disney+.
