Ocean's Eleven Prequel Title!

Today we’re all aware of the heist movies and the amazing thrills that they inject in us. Hollywood has many mainstream heist franchises, but do you ever stop and wonder what film started this fad? Heist films did exist in Hollywood but weren’t always as popular and they wouldn’t have been if it wasn’t for the Steven Soderbergh directorial Ocean’s Eleven back in 2001 (official remake of 1960’s Ocean’s Eleven). The film had one of the most extensive cast in a movie ever. The cool and suave vibe of the film left an impression on the audience and Ocean’s Eleven became a huge deal. There were two follow up sequels to the film all successful but not as good as the original. Back in 2018, the studio also tried an all women’s team in the form of Ocean’s Eight starring some of Hollywood’s biggest actresses. The film wasn’t critically successful but did generate a massive profit. Needless to say the Ocean’s franchise is something that will always generate hype and money. It seems like the studio understands this well, as they’re now planning a Ocean’s Eleven Prequel starring Margot Robbie and Ryan Gosling. Read the details below:

Ocean’s Eleven Prequel – ‘Oceans’ Just Got Interesting!

According to a new report from Showbiz 411, the Ocean’s Eleven prequel is officially in the works and will be titled Oceans, a reference to the roles played by the two leads. Margot Robbie and Ryan Gosling set to reunite as leads after their blockbuster Barbie will reportedly play the parents of George Clooney’s Danny Ocean from Ocean’s Eleven and its sequels. According to the report, the film will follow the Oceans teaching Danny and daughter Debbie (Sandra Bullock) how to steal from the rich — with a special team assembled to help them out.

As it is a prequel, the film will be set in the 1960s, more specifically Monte Carlo in 1962. Oceans will set up what we know as the Ocean’s trilogy consisting of Ocean’s Eleven, Ocean’s Twelve and Ocean’s Thirteen, along with the 2018 spin-off Ocean’s Eight. Jay Roach is reportedly set to direct. As of this time, Robbie and Gosling are the only stars officially confirmed to appear.

The Ocean’s Eleven prequel doesn’t have a release date at the time of writing.
