rySony is to the gaming indust what Disney is to the Cinema industry. Not only is Sony’s PlayStation series the biggest in console market, Sony’s original games are some of the best games ever made with loads of Game Awards titles to their names. After the release of God of War: Ragnarok, Horizon Forbidden West, and The Last of Us Remake, everyone is eagerly waiting for what’s next. So it is time for Sony to bring up the PlayStation Showcase and that is exactly, what this article is about as we have some awesome news!
Sony PlayStation Showcase 2023 Is Coming On The Week of May 25!
While nothing is officially confirmed yet, we all know that Sony is building up to a huge PlayStation Showcase. There was no Showcase held in 2022 and we received reports that it has been delayed to Q2 2023. Well, now we are in the second month of Q2 2023 and hence we are all expecting the Showcase really soon. First of all, for those who do not know, PlayStation Showcase is different from PlayStation State of Play which is held every other month or so. Showcase is a much bigger event which features some of the biggest announcements of the year and upcoming years. In fact, Spider-Man 2 itself was announced at the PlayStation Showcase 2021.
As you may remember a few months ago, we received information that as per some insiders and leakers it is going to be the biggest event EVER and “will blow your b***s off. Today, we have a definitive slate for the event courtesy of the insider Jeff Grubb. As per a tweet by him, which consisted of all major gaming and pop culture events schedule of the year, Sony PlayStation Showcase 2023 is all set to happen in the week of May 25!

He later went on to clarify that May 25 is the latest date as it could happen sooner in that week as well. “I said “week of May 25″ because that’s probably the latest that week it could happen. But it could happen earlier. I just don’t want to say week of May 21 and then people get mad when it doesn’t happen on a Sunday,” clarified Grubb. Of course, it isn’t officially confirmed yet and even though these insiders are quite reliable, they too are wrong sometimes. But we all know that a Showcase is coming as it is high time now and PS fans now need more juice!
As for what all will be a part of this upcoming event, obviously, there will be a full length trailer for Marvel’s Spider-Man 2. Some fans are also expecting a gameplay trailer, but that’s unlikely considering we didn’t get one for God of War: Ragnarok either. Since, we are all aware of the gameplay mechanics of the Spider-Man series Sony might skip the gameplay trailer. That aside, our predictions for the event also include:
- Official announcement for PS5 Pro and PS5 Slim variants
- Naughty Dog – We’ll surely receive updates about Last of Us multiplayer title, or, unofficially, Factions. The other titles from Naughty Dog are rumored to be The Last of Us Part III and a new IP.
- Santa Monica Studio – A new AAA title possibly Darkside
- Guerrilla Games – Horizon 3, Horizon multiplayer title which could be an MMO and a new mobile game title.
- Sucker Punch Productions – Ghost of Tsushima 2 and a new multiplayer title
- Bluepoint Games – Bloodborne Sequel as well as a remaster of the first game

Once again, these are all predictions and so far even the Showcase hasn’t been officially confirmed. So, treat all this information as just speculations and possibilities rather than facts.
