India has always been a nation filled with cinephiles and with the ever rising demand for movies, it’s only natural that more cinema halls or movie theatres are built. Well, today we are going to talk about one such movie theatre which isn’t exactly new, but has a lot of new stuff to offer! Yes, we are going to talk about PVR Superplex which has now re-opened at DLF Mall of India, Noida. We’ll try to answer all your questions about it so that you can plan on checking it out asap!
How Good is PVR Superplex DLF Mall of India, Noida?
Starting up with the ambience, it has a very swanky feel to it and matches that of PVR Select City Walk, Saket; PVR Logix, Noida and PVR Vegas, Dwarka. It feels pretty high end, has incredible furnishing and a classic lighting which will elevate your mood the moment you step in. The washroom facilities and cleanliness are up to the mark as well and you’ll have no problems with it hygiene wise. Of course, being a high end theatre, the crowd it caters is usually high end as well, so if you are worried safety wise, there is no need to do so. Food and beverages might feel a tad expensive as their biggest tub isn’t big enough but costs some pretty bucks. However, the rates are in line with most PVR Superplex, although Logix is a bit cheaper.
Now, coming to what movie theatres are actually about aka the Audi’s, screen sizes, movie formats and audio. Well, PVR Superplex DLF Mall of India as 8 screens as opposed to 12 screens at Logix, Noida and Vegas, Dwarka but the good thing is that it offers variety of formats including IMAX, 4DX, Laser, and P[XL]. I personally went for a screening of Ponniyin Selvan 2 in IMAX 2D, and for the most part it did not disappoint! It is really good to have another IMAX screen in Noida and the 5th one Delhi NCR, although PVR Logix’ IMAX Screen still remains the biggest one in NCR.
The size of the PVR Superplex DLF, IMAX Screen was pretty decent compared to Saket however, it definitely isn’t big enough. But what it lacks in size, is fairly overcompensated by its luxurious seats and a banger audio system. The seats are really comfortable, cushiony, and offer a huge leg space, which is 100 times better than PVR Logix or even the non-prime seats of PVR Select City Walk. The Dolby Surround System that the IMAX uses is incredibly clear and loud, with a bass which will literally make your seats shake during action sequences. One thing to note however, is that this IMAX screen offers no other kind of seat like Recliners, Loungers or Electric Chair.
I couldn’t experience the 4DX first hand but I did take a peek into the theatre which looked pretty up to the mark with decent number of seats, and an average 4DX screen size. The P[XL] Audi is the one you’ll encounter the moment you enter the Superplex and showcases films using 4k RGB laser dual projectors and Dolby Atmos sound system. So, in case you aren’t able to secure an IMAX ticket, P[XL] would be the next best screen to opt for to attain an optimum cinema viewing experience. Because aside from a slightly smaller screen size, everything P[XL] would be better than IMAX, except for the films shot in IMAX. Obviously the films that are shot in IMAX should to be viewed in IMAX for the most incredible experience.
So, if you are a cinephile, PVR Superplex DLF Mall of India, Noida can easily be added to your regular theatre list as it is one of the absolute best in Delhi NCR. I’d rank it in the exact same league as PVR Logix, PVR Select City Walk and PVR Vegas.
