Shazam Fury Of The Gods, Zachary Levi Shares Teaser ahead of SDCC!

Shazam previously known as the Captain Marvel is a character from the DC comics. He was named Captain marvel from 1940-53. After that he was named after the wizard Shazam as his world shared a magic element. He was one of the many overpowered Superheroes in DC. However, the more overpowered characters the more you can make them face each other into epic crossovers. Shazam has been associated with the Justice League very often. Even if the common audience isn’t aware of him, the comic book readers are well aware of his importance. So after the DCEU was crumbling down with the disastrous Justice League debacle, the solo movies like Aquaman kept their hopes of a cinematic universe alive. In the string of those solo films there was Shazam. The film released in 2019 and surprisingly performed well on the Box Office.

The film had good ratings as well making it a sure shot win for Warner Bros. The film starred Zachary Levi, Ashley Angel, Jack Dylan Grazer, Mark Strong, Grace Fulton, Adam Brody, Djimon Hounsou, Michelle Borth and Marta Milans. The film’s success was credited to David Sandberg, the director who has helmed Annabelle: Creation. The only terrifying film from the Conjuring Universe that is not directed by James Wan. Sandberg had found a unique story in amidst saturation of superhero flicks. Audiences appreciated his fresh take and Warner Bros. was quick seize an opportunity. They announced a sequel to Shazam with Sandberg returning to helm the sequel. Since, that announcement I think we’ve got ourselves a teaser.

Shazam: Fury of the Gods, a Tease Teaser?

So after multiple delays any other film that was in development in 2020, Shazam: Fury of the Gods finally seems like it is ready to give us a first look. As we’ve covered before Warner Bros. plans to make a very strong mark or presence at this year’s San Diego Comic Con. With multiple panels already being announced for Sandman, Harley Quinn Season 3. You’d expect this after three years I mean. Dwayne Johnson has previously confirmed his panel for Black Adam.

In classic Shazam style Zachary Levi too confirmed his presence at this year’s comic con by tweet a teaser of the sequel. Or so it seemed. The short video is ploy to raise excitement for the upcoming event. The video refuses to show a lot besides quick shots of Shazam’s boots and gauntlets before being cut to Shazam almost all morphed in shadow.  He questions, “Sup?” and right when we brace ourselves for some new footage from the sequel, he continues that with, “Me again. Just being a tease.”

Check out the tease here:

While the teaser was disappointing as we basically got nothing to see. Although, it would’ve seemed odd if he would’ve released a teaser for the film just a few days before comic con. I mean there thousands of people gathering there to be the very first to witness anything and a trailer being circulating around would’ve been quite the bummer. So anyone who thought by looking at the tweet that it is a teaser….the joke’s on you. That includes me.

We can expect the teaser to drop a later comic con ends so not long now. DC might want to up their game as Marvel Studios will also be making an appearance at Comic Con this year and amongst their various panels, they also wish to give us the first look of their upcoming titles such as Black Panther: Wakanda Forever, Antman and The Wasp: Quantomania and Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3. So this Comic Con is going to awesome.

Shazam: Fury of the Gods is slated to release on 21st December 2022.
