Stranger Things Season 4 Crosses 1 Billion Viewing Hours!

Stranger Things Season 4 is the hottest show on Netflix right now and actually from May 27th when its 1st Volume released. The show has been taking the number one constantly from 27th. It looked unshakable from the that position until of course The Umbrella Academy Season 3 was released that momentarily dethroned Stranger Things. However, it was only a matter of time before our Heroes of Hawkins regains their spot. As the much awaited final two episodes of Season 4 were released on 1st July, it caused Netflix to crash. The amount of traffic and everyone desperate to know how this season ends. Stranger Things 4 regained its number 1 spot and has been on the top since. Just a few weeks back I’d written an article specifying Stranger Things 4 Vol. 1’s viewership hours. Vol. 1 had topped the list for any English speaking show.

Stranger Things 4 Vol. 1 had 930.32 Million Viewership Hours over its period of 28 days. Seriously its gonna hurt Netflix when the show ends with the next season. The show was only second to the Korean Drama Squid Game which has 1.6 Billion Viewership Hours. Many had predicted that Stranger Things 4 won’t cross Squid Game. However, the gap between the first 7 and final 2 episodes might just’ve given a boost to Stranger Things 4. When we add the viewership hours of Vol.1 and Vol. 2 there seems to be hope.

Stranger Things Season 4 to Beat Squid Game?

The Millie Bobby Brown and Winona Ryder starrer has always been a flagship show for Netflix. Thus, the amount of time and money Netflix spends on it is valid. Stranger Things 4 is one of the most expensive shows ever produced and if you’ve seen the season, you know the Duffer Brothers have made good use of it. Stranger Things is always known to be make huge records with its viewership hours simply increasing with every season.

Although this season is different as the show returns after almost three years and it ending with the next season, fans are cherishing this gigantic show. The 4th Season is the biggest the show has ever been be it the scale, length or viewership hours. Stranger Things 4 including Vol. 1 & Vol. 2 is about 13 hours worth of content. It is regarded as the darkest season yet and well it is. Talking about viewership numbers…what do you think did it cross Squid Game?

Did the resurgence caused by Vol. 2 become the biggest show on Netflix? Well not quite. With Vol. 1 already packing in 930.32 Viewership hours already. Vol. 2 since its release with only 2 episodes has clocked 221. 3 Million Viewership hours. Yes, Netflix might just be saved. From the time span of June 27th to July 3rd the total viewership hours of Stranger Things 4 was 301. 28 Million. Adding this to the already gigantic numbers of Vol. 1.

That takes it to 1.15 Billion viewership hours. The only second Netflix show to ever achieve this feat and the only English Speaking Netflix show. With Squid Game having only a mediocre lead over it and Stranger Things 4 having over 3 weeks it looks like we’ll get a new king after all. While it will be difficult but so is fighting Vecna. So having crossed 1 Billion viewership hours the next stop Stranger Things 4 wants to make is surpassing Squid Game.

Do you think Stranger Things 4 will surpass Squid Game? If yes then what will be the total viewership hours of Stranger Things 4? Stranger Things 4 Vol.1 & Vol. 2 are currently streaming on Netflix.
