Black Adam fell. Shazam: Fury of the Gods crashed. The Flash torpedoed. Nothing seems to be working for DC since last year, except for Robert Pattinson’s Batman spin-off. No one should’ve any expectations from Aquaman and the Lost Kingdom as the test screening results of the film were abysmal. So, what does DC do from here? Well, one of the reasons for the failure of these films was that they won’t have any impact on the DCU in the longer run. As when James Gunn’s universe starts everything would be anew. So watching these films don’t matter. This means when Gunn does take over the box office performance of DC films should improve as they’re all connected now. DC’s biggest ray of hope is Superman: Legacy; so let’s see what is up with the reboot.
Superman: Legacy – New Superman & Lois Lane Will Announced This Week!
We still don’t know who is our new Superman and Lois Lane. Many options have been thrown at us but none of them have stuck yet. However, it appears that this may change soon. The Hollywood Reporter reveals that screen tests with David Corenswet, Tom Brittney, and Nicholas Hoult made them do scenes as both Clark Kent and Superman. Corenswet tested with Emma Mackey, while Brittney was paired up with Phoebe Dynevor, followed by Hoult and Rachel Brosnahan.
Per the trade, Emma Mackey “segued into the second day” to test with the other actors as Lois for the Superman: Legacy auditions. Along with Superman and Lois Lane, there are new candidates for the role of Lex Luthor as well. Alexander and Bill Skarsgård have entered toe race to play the iconic Superman villain. It is also reported that a decision regarding Superman and Lois Lane’s casting may be coming in this week. Well, that’s certainly interesting. What’s more interesting is Superman: Legacy’s new synopsis.
In the same article by The Hollywood Reporter, they also mentioned about the potential plot of Superman: Legacy. The film along with being set in early years of Superman will also tackle how Superman will be coming into a world where superheroes already exists.

Superman: Legacy is the first movie in the new DC slate and is supposed to release on 11th July 2025.
