She has an immensely loyal fanbase and if you’re one of them then this film needs no introduction. The Eras Tour movie will document Taylor Swift’s 2023-2024 Eras Tour. The filming of the movie took place in August 2023, with permission form SAG-AFTRA at three shows at SoFi Stadium in Inglewood, California. The Taylor Swift starrer is helmed by Sam Wrench and has rendered many studio heads to change the release dates of films releasing in October 2023, including The Exorcist: Believer which is still struggling at the box office. However, it appears that the fan demand for the film is so high that theatre owners are forced to release it prior to the release date.
Fan Demand Forces Taylor Swift Eras Tour Movie To Release Early!
Just hours before the world premiere of Taylor Swift | The Eras Tour movie in Los Angeles, the singer – actress took to Twitter and announced that the film will be available one day before its scheduled release date (October 13th) i.e., 12th October, 2023 in US and Canada theatres, with additional showings being added throughout the weekend. This news comes to us on the cusp of the film already crossing $100 million in presales. The Taylor Swift starrer is an eyeing a $125-175 million in its opening weekend alone.
Taylor Swift’s announcement tweet read, “PREMIERE DAY Andddd I can’t really wrap my head around this but…. Look what you genuinely made me do: Due to unprecedented demand we’re opening up early access showings of The Eras Tour Concert Film on THURSDAY in America and Canada!!” Swift’s tweet reads. “As in… TOMORROW. We’re also adding additional showtimes Friday and throughout the weekend. All tickets will be available by 10am tomorrow morning. And it’ll be showing starting Friday in 90 countries all over the world. I can’t thank you enough for wanting to see this film that so vividly captures my favorite adventure I’ve ever been a part of: The Eras Tour. And the best part is, it’s an adventure we’re still on together. Getting in the car now…”
