The Game Awards is an award event that celebrates gaming each year by awarding the deserving candidates in the world of gaming. The award show first started in 2014 and soon became an annual event. They are hosted and produced by game journalist Geoff Keighley, who previously worked over ten years on the Spike Video Game Awards. The awards just like this year, are held in December every year. The nominations for the awards were announced back in November. The awards are normally held in person but they are also live streamed on TikTok. This year the award function is held in Los Angeles’ Peacock Theater. So, without wasting anymore time let’s straight get into who won what, shall we?
The Game Awards 2023 – All Winner Revealed!
Quite unsurprisingly, Baldur’s Gate 3 walked away with 6 Awards including Game of the Year and Best Performance for Neil Newbon, while Alan Wake 2 walked away with 3 Awards including Best Narrative and Best Direction. What surprised gamers however, is the fact that Marvel’s Spider-Man 2 and Starfield which were two of the most anticipated and acclaimed titles for PS and XBox respectively walked home empty handed. This is the second shocker big of the event as fans were distraught when the best selling game of 2023 – Hogwarts Legacy wasn’t even nominated for any of the categories. As for the new category which was introduced last year ” Best Adaptation”, it was awarded to The Last of Us, which is quite deserving. Finally the Most Anticipated Game was awarded to Final Fantasy 7 Rebirth. Here, heck out all nominations and wins below!
