Lord of the Rings is one of the biggest names when it comes to Pop-culture significance. Be it JRR Tolkien’s books or Peter Jackson’s films. Both are celebrated considered to be the absolute best. With Jackson’s last film in the trilogy- Lord of the Rings: Return of the King bagging the Best Picture award at the Academy Awards in 2004. This is simply one of the many accolades the films have earned. Though many hard-core fans still believe that the books are the better in any shape or form. I agree with that sentiment, you simply can’t capture the essence of a book into a film. However, the immersive quality books offer is now available through other mediums as well. For instance, gaming. As that actively forces the person to take part in the action rather than being a passive observer.
It seems like Lord of the Rings is heading into the same direction. With the new Amazon Prime Series – The Lord of the Rings: The Rings of Power just months away from its release, Nacon has planned another surprise for fans. The long awaited game Lord of the Rings game titled The Lord of the Rings: Gollum has finally gotten some update quenching fans’ thirst for a glance as to what is being cooked behind the scenes.
The Lord of the Rings: Gollum Gives Fans What They Wanted
As you might be aware Nacon had recently acquired Daedalic Entertainment, the studio responsible for developing this game. In recent months, fans have been constantly getting a few snippets of the game but never anything conclusive or revealing that may lend them the idea of what the game might be or how exactly will it look like. However, I’m afraid that is not the case anymore. Nacon has just tweeted a brief gameplay trailer of the game.
The trailer footage of The Lord of the Rings: Gollum shows Gollum climbing and crawling various landscapes or terrains circumnavigating threats. This has to be one of the most elaborate longest gameplay preview we’ve gotten in a while. The trailer is about 1 minute 20 seconds of gameplay but keeping in mind how gameplay showcasing have been previously sporadic, any reveal is a welcome one for those looking forward to the game. For those of you who are desperate to know more and follow on every lead for The Lord of the Rings: Gollum or its release date Nacon has issued another statement to fill you in.
“Experience the untold story in Lord of the Rings: Gollum a story-driven action RPG where our twisted protagonist is on a quest to regain the only thing precious to him,” Nacon said about the new game. “Torn by his fractured psyche, players will have to manage both Sméagol and Gollum on a journey that will take him across famous locales, revealing more about his time as a slave below the Dark Tower and his stray with the Elves of Mirkwood, as he interacts with iconic characters from the series.”
From the past few years fans had been getting various updates regarding the game, with creators comparing it with Prince of Persia. However, things silenced for a while when the game was delayed to 2022. Although now that the release date is out we can expect more previews and teasers regarding the game to release soon.
Lord of the Rings: Gollum is scheduled to launch on 1st September 2022.
