Ticket To Paradise First Trailer Is Here, Release Date and More

A new collaboration between George Clooney and Julia Roberts, two of Hollywood’s most prominent personalities, is soon to be released. The two actors are most recognized for their work together in the movies Ocean’s Eleven and Ocean’s Twelve. In 2002, Clooney made his feature film directing debut with Confessions of a Dangerous Mind, which starred Roberts and the duo reunited again in 2016 for Amazon’s Money Monster. They are currently starring in Ticket to Paradise, and Universal Pictures has just debuted the rom-com’s first trailer.

Ticket To Paradise Trailer, Release Date and Plot

“For better or for worse. George Clooney and Julia Roberts star in #TicketToParadise. In Theatres this October,” Universal captioned the YouTube post. Check out the trailer below:

“Ticket to Paradise” is a romantic comedy featuring longtime collaborators Roberts and Clooney as a divorced couple who go to Bali to try to prevent their lovestruck daughter Lily (Kaitlyn Dever) from making the same mistake they did 25 years earlier. Lily’s best friend Wren (Billie Lourd) also gets caught up in a relationship with a nearby doctor. Lucas Bravo, the breakthrough star of “Emily in Paris,” plays an eligible bachelor and swoon-worthy fiancé whose courtship is on the verge of ending because of Lily’s neurotic parents, who also appear to catch wind of the magic of the tropical holiday and fall in love again.

Julia Roberts And George Clooney Reunite As Exes

Mamma Mia! Here We Go Again director Ol Parker, who co-wrote the script with Daniel Pipski for Ticket to Paradise, has also directed the film. Ticket to Paradise is produced by Working Title’s Tim Bevan and Eric Fellner, alongside Sarah Harvey and Deborah Balderstone, Smokehouse Pictures partners Clooney and Grant Heslov, as well as Roberts, Lisa Gillan, and Marisa Yeres Gill of Red Om Films.

The movie, which was shot in Australia, had to take a break in January because of Covid cases among the cast and crew as the Queensland region experienced a rise in infection.

After staying away from rom-coms for over a decade, this movie marks Roberts’s return to the genre. Earlier this year, Roberts explained to the New York Times Magazine that a worthy romance script “didn’t exist” until she read “Ticket to Paradise.”

The official description for the film reads: “Academy Award winners George Clooney and Julia Roberts reunite on the big screen as exes who find themselves on a shared mission to stop their lovestruck daughter from making the same mistake they once made. From Working Title, Smokehouse Pictures, and Red Om Films, Ticket to Paradise is a romantic comedy about the sweet surprise of second chances.”

Ticket to Paradise is scheduled to be released on October 21 and will be streaming on Peacock 45 days after its release.
