Tulsa King Season 2: Cast, Plot, Release Date, and More

Tulsa King Season 2 is filled with fascinating new storylines and exciting newcomers to its cast. Taylor Sheridan created Tulsa King revolves around a Mafia cop who just got out of prison. He is sent to Tulsa to build his new crime empire. The Tulsa King series features Sylvester Stallone as the titular Mafia capo. It premiered on November 13, 2022, on Paramount+. Here is what we know so far about the highly-anticipated Tulsa King Season 2.

Tulsa King Season 2 Release

In February 2023, Deadline shared that Tulsa King showrunner Terence Winter stepped down from his position because of some creative differences. Despite that, Winter will remain an executive producer.

In February 2023, Martin Starr (Bodhi) told Collider: “We don’t have dates yet. I think they’re working out so many details. We don’t even know where we’re going to do it this year, or, this next season. So I’m excited to find out everything. I don’t think they’ve dug into scripts or anything yet. I could be wrong, but you know, the impending writer’s strike certainly would urge anyone to get moving.”

Another setback to the release is the strike by the Writers Guild of America and Screen Actors Guild. In May 2023, speaking with Newsweek, lead actor Sylvester Stallone reflected on the strike: “It’s definitely affecting work because we can’t move forward with a lot of projects, especially Tulsa King. But I think it’s changed so much that the writers do have a serious gripe. They’re in a grievance that it’s changed. There’s not enough work to keep all these writers going and then they’re living under this cloud of AI. It’s a very terrifying time to be a writer.”

Season 1 had a total of nine episodes and there’s a good possibility that Tulsa King Season 2 will have a similar number of episodes. Since Season 1 premiered on Paramount+, the second season is expected to be released on Paramount+ as well. If the filming will likely end around Nov-Dec 2024 at the latest, Tulsa King Season 2 will premiere on Paramount+ between March and April 2025.

What Can You Expect to See in Season 2?

Even though, we don’t have any clear information regarding the plot of Season 2, the finale of Season 1 provided several hints. Stallone’s Dwight and his crew successfully defeated Waltrip and his local biker gang. After the triumph, Stacy betrayed Dwight and had him arrested. Dwight’s other enemy Domenick Lombardozzi’s Chickie is lurking in the shadows and can come out in the forefront in Season 2. Given that Dwight has several enemies, he is likely to escape from the prison and also create new alliances while he is behind bars.

In January 2023, in an interview with IndieWire, Paramount+ chief programming officer Tanya Giles talked about the possibilities of spin-off shows. “The huge success we’ve had with ‘Tulsa King’ and Sylvester Stallone opens up possibilities with Taylor Sheridan, who consistently, his mind works in terms of universes and backstories, so I think there’s always a possibility that there’s more to that universe and more to that story. More to come there.”
