Sony is to the gaming industry what Disney is to the Cinema industry. Not only is Sony’s PlayStation series the biggest in console market, Sony’s original games are some of the best games ever made with loads of Game Awards titles to their names. One of the most popular studio attached to PlayStation Studios is Insomniac Games Inc, who are the developers behind Ratchet and Clank series as well as the highly acclaimed Marvel’s Spider-Man series. You may be aware that Insomniac has suffered a massive data mine resulting in leaking its plans till 2030. So, today, we are going to talk about all their leaked games and plans for coming few years.
Marvel’s Spider-Man Online (2024)
The first upcoming game as per leaks is Marvel’s Spider-Man: The Great Web which is an online multiplayer based in the map of Spider-Man 2. However, this game was just pitched and it being assumed to be scraped off at the moment. However, some plans for an online Spider-Man game are surely in motion and we expect to learn more about them.
Marvel’s Venom: Lethal Protector (2025)
Venom was undoubtedly, one of the most incredible as well as excessively hyped parts of Marvel’s Spider-Man 2. So, there’s no way Insomniac is done with Venom and symbiotes, especially considering how they teased Carnage in the game. Therefore, comes a limited scope game by the name of Venom: Lethal Protector. The game will reportedly be similar in scope, duration, and size to Marvel’s Spider-Man: Miles Morales. The game will consist of an original story which will directly lead to Spider-Man 3. It reportedly has 12 main missions and 3 event bosses and will last about 8-10 hours in length. It is set to release in Q2 2025 and will cost nearly US$50 with Carnage as the main antagonist.
Marvel’s Wolverine (2026)
The biggest victim of this leak has been Marvel’s Wolverine and essentially everything about the game has been leaked. From characters and cast, to gameplay videos and playtime hours. As it happens, alongside that, the entire plot and structure of Marvel’s Wolverine has been leaked as well. The game has 40 missions including 30 instances and 10 open world. It has been described as a dark but emotional narrative with cutting-edge gameplay. Wolverine is one such Marvel character who hasn’t had a good gaming run. So, in this modern era of gaming, it is about time we see a dedicated Wolverine game.
Marvel’s Spider-Man 3 Part 1 (2027)
Of course, we all know Spider-Man 3 is all set to arrive however, it seems like it is going to be a two part event. Marvel’s Spider-Man 3 Part 1 is slated to release in Holiday 2027 and is priced at US $50 in the leaks. The budget allocated for the game is $175 M and a projected number of 12 M units of the game will be released. The projected sales for the game were shown as US $405-415M.
Marvel’s Spider-Man 3 Part 2 (2028)
Marvel’s Spider-Man 3 Part 2 is slated to release in Holiday 2028 and is priced at US $50 as well in the leaks. The budget allocated for the game is $225 M and a projected number of 12 M units of the game will be released. The projected sales for the game were shown as US $405-415M. That aside, a combo for Part 1 and 2 is set to release in 2029 priced at US $60 with a projected figure of 2 Million units in total.
Rachet and Clank (2029)
After skipping the entire generation of PS4, Rachet and Clank made a glorious return on PS5 with Rachet and Clank: Rift Apart in 2021. Rift Apart received positive reviews from critics, with particular praise given to its visuals, combat and technical advancements. That aside, the game sold 2.7 million units and was a commercial success as well. So, it comes as no surprise that PS will want to continue the series however, the bad news is that the next game will not be arriving before 2029 as per the leaked schedule. This might be Insomniac’s first PlayStation 6 game. Lets not forget that it’s possible that between now and then, we may get a remaster collection of the older games from another developer, a spin-off game, or multiple spin-off games, from other developers, a TV series, another movie, or more comic books.
Marvel’s X-Men (2030)
With Wolverine under development we kinda guessed we’ll soon be seeing an X-Men game by Insomniac and so it we will. The first X-Men game will be released in 2030 with all the following titles before 2035 as that is where their contract ends. The good news is that X-Men game will most likely be available for PC as well! Guessing the release date, it looks like it will be a PS6 or PS6 Pro release.
Aside from these leaked titles, some other titles were also mentioned in the leaks but not much information about them is available. So, here’s a list of these other games:
