Meg 2: The Trench is the sequel to the 2018 The Meg directed by Jon Turteltaub. The Ben Wheatley directorial debuted with a record low Rotten Tomatoes score of 0% but has still managed to gross $377.1 million worldwide. This outstanding figure is thanks to the $297 million coming from international markets, mainly China. The domestic figures of the film are embarrassingly underwhelming – $79 million. Despite having a $185 million budget, the film has emerged as a rare box office success thanks to the global cume. The film was distributed by Warner Bros. and in a summer where they’ve faced many box office duds, Meg 2: The Trench along with Barbie are the only light at the end of the tunnel. Now that the film is out of theatres, fans are wondering when will the film start streaming online?
Meg 2: The Trench: When Will It Come On Max?
As Warner Bros. distributed Meg 2: The Trench, the film will make its online streaming debut on the studio’s own service, Max. At the time of writing, it has been 36 days since Meg 2 made its theatrical debut. The Jason Statham flick has already come to digital platforms as it released for purchase on August 25, just 21 days after the movie’s theatrical debut. The studio hasn’t announced the sequel’s streaming release date but the Blu-ray, DVD, and 4K Ultra HD release has been announced – October 24th.
As most films come to streaming once their physical release, Meg 2’s streaming debut on Max is at least a month away. By the time Meg 2 arrives for physical purchase, 81 days will have gone by since the flick debuted in theaters – far later than the streaming release of most Warner Bros. movies which usually range from 45 to 70 days:

Along with Jason Statham the film stars Cliff Curtis, Shuya Sophia Cai and Sienna Guillory. The sequel is directed by Ben Wheatley with the screenplay from Jon Hoeber, Erich Hoeber, and Dean Georgaris, based on the 1999 novel The Trench by Steve Alten.
