X-Men 97 Trailer Description From SDCC 2023!
While most of the information is public, certain trailers and footages were only showcased to the SDCC audience and X-Men 97 was one of those trailers. As you may know, X-Men ’97 is an upcoming American animated television series created by Beau DeMayo for the streaming service Disney+, based on the Marvel Comics superhero team X-Men. It serves as a revival of X-Men: The Animated Series (1992–97), and the plot will continue where the original series left off. The trailer hasn’t been made public yet, however we expect leaks to arrive really soon. Till then check out the description of the trailer and a D23 leaked footage of the show!
The footage for X-men ’97 featured a set of different clips. One of the clips shows the X-Men team interrogating the villainous Dr. Trask, with Jean Grey lending a hand to enter his mind during the process. Cyclops even gets his moment to say his iconic “To me, my X-Men” line. Another clip featured Cyclops slowing down several X-Men members with his laser beams as they were falling out of the air.
It was also confirmed from the footage that Jean Grey will be pregnant, and both Archangel and Bishop will be official members of the team. The show’s classic villain Mr. Sinister has been a part of the project since Season 1 and we’ll be seeing a lot of him as well. As for one of the most popular X-Men characters aka Magneto, he’ll will be leading the X-Men now as opposed to his anti-hero roles so far! Another new mutant called Sunspot (Gui Agustini) will also join the titular team.
Aside from all this, another thing that was confirmed is that that Season 2 is actively in development as well and is in fact, “nearing completion”! As for the release date, X-Men 97 was said to be released by the end of 2023, but it could be pushed into 2024 considering the ongoing strikes and production delays world-wide.
