Marvel Studios has confirmed that Krysten Ritter will reprise her role as Jessica Jones in Daredevil: Born Again season 2. This marks Jessica’s official entry into the Marvel Cinematic Universe continuity under Marvel Studios rather than being Netflix-only canon. Jessica’s inclusion was first revealed alongside the full cast rollout for the new season. She joins Charlie Cox’s Matt Murdock / Daredevil, and it signals Marvel’s willingness to bring more street-level heroes into the modern MCU.
The Born Again season 2 trailer dropped recently and confirmed the series will premiere on March 24, 2026 on Disney+. It teases Jessica in action amid the chaos around Daredevil’s fight against Wilson Fisk’s Anti-Vigilante Task Force. This is a big deal because, until now, most of the Netflix Marvel shows existed in a kind of limbo where they were loosely connected but not fully embraced by Marvel Studios. Jessica’s inclusion is one of the clearest signs that Marvel is finally weaving these stories into the present MCU. So what does this mean for other Defenders?
Is Luke Cage Coming to MCU or Daredevil: Born Again?

Luke Cage’s future in the MCU is much less certain than Jessica’s. There is no official Marvel Studios confirmation that Mike Colter’s Luke Cage will appear in Born Again season 2 or any other MCU project. That said, there are some interesting hints.
Mike Colter recently made a comment on social media that sparked fan speculation about his return. Fans took the emoji-filled reply as a tease, but nothing has been officially announced. Before Jessica’s role was confirmed, Marvel executives said the studio was exploring the idea of bringing back Luke Cage alongside Jessica Jones and Iron Fist. However, “exploring” is not the same as “confirmed.”
So right now, the only thing we can officially say is that Luke Cage’s return is possible, but not confirmed.
What About Iron Fist?

Iron Fist’s situation is similar to Luke Cage’s. There has been no official statement from Marvel Studios that Iron Fist or Finn Jones’ version of Danny Rand will appear in Daredevil: Born Again or any upcoming MCU show. Marvel has talked internally about exploring Iron Fist’s return along with Jessica Jones and Luke Cage. But again, that’s exploration and planning, not a greenlight.
At this point, Iron Fist remains potential future content, not official MCU canon like Jessica Jones. But Jessica Jones entering Born Again is the first major step toward uniting the old Netflix street heroes with the present MCU era in a meaningful way. It proves the era of “Netflix characters can’t interact with Avengers” is over.
For Luke Cage and Iron Fist, fans should stay hopeful but not assume their return until Marvel confirms it officially. Right now there are rumors and hints, but the only confirmed return so far is Jessica Jones.
