Black Adam Adds New Post Credit Scenes!

Amidst the latest controversy surrounding the DCEU, be it the things done by Ezra Miller and the cancellation of Batgirl, a recent report suggests that Black Adam has added some extra post credit scenes. The film features Dwayne Johnson as the titular supervillain and will showcase his origin story. The character is an adversary of Shazam portrayed by Zachary Levi in 2019’s Shazam and it is quite possible he makes a cameo in the film. Anyways some teasers like “world needs heroes” and the first trailer debuted some weeks ago and fans have been waiting for more such content. The trailer was pumping a lot of heart. These past few months we’ve been getting quite a few updates on Black Adam as  DC wants this film to do well so when they eventually do make Shazam and Black Adam fight it’ll be a spectacle.

However, I’m unsure what a solo film to a potential villain means. I mean if Black Adam chooses to be the destroyer of the world at the end of the world to make his villainous arc complete, that’s a bummer note to end a film on. Or if they do the opposite where he chooses to be the survivor, why will Shazam and him fight? Shazam is clearly a hero figure.

What are the New Black Adam Post Credits About?

Black Adam Full Plot Leaked + Superman Cameo

The Hollywood Reporter has just reported that the new DCEU film recently had a screening in June where the audiences present got to see two new post credit scene that places Dwayne Johnson’s Black Adam in the rightful place in the new DCEU.  For now it is unclear what the new post credit scenes are about. They’re definitely added recently as the previous screenings didn’t have them. As we know due to recent happenings that DCEU is following a ten year plan like Marvel, it seems like the post credit scenes hint us in that direction. Dwayne Johnson in a recent interview revealed this to ComicBook.com,

“I am 100% committed to not only Black Adam but then expanding the Black Adam universe, the DC universe,”  Johnson added when ComicBook.com asked if he sees this role as something he’ll do for years to come during a recent Q&A with press. “I am an optimist from the word, ‘Go.’ So, to me and to all of us up here, all universes exist in our heads. I will, we all will, work very hard to make sure we are honoring the mythology but also giving the fans what they want. I hear the fans, we all do, and I pick up everything they’re putting down. It doesn’t get by me, it doesn’t get by these guys [producer Hiram Garcia, producer Beau Flynn, director Jaume Collet-Serra]. This is the beginning, hopefully, fingers crossed, of a very long storytelling road that Black Adam is the anchoring jet fuel now that will then push and press this universe out.”

Black Adam is helmed by Jungle Cruise’s Jaume Collett-Serra, and will star Dwayne the Rock Johnson in the lead role of Black Adam. The supporting cast includes  Aldis Hodge (The Invisible Man, Underground) as Hawkman, Quintessa Swindell (Trinkets, Euphoria) as Cyclone, Noah Centineo (To All the Boys I Love Before, Charlie’s Angels) as Atom Smasher, and Pierce Brosnan (GoldenEye, Mamma Mia!) as Doctor Fate, with Uli Latukefu, Marwan Kenzari, Mohammed Amer, James Cusati-Moyer, and Bodhi Sabongui have also been cast in currently unknown roles.

Black Adam is slated to release on 21st October 2022.
