Just yesterday we talked about how the Aquaman 2‘s trailer eludes us. According to the standard Hollywood marketing campaign, we should’ve gotten two trailers till now. Just 108 days are left but there is no sign from DC or Warner Bros. that the trailer is on its way. I mean Jawan had at least given us a first look and prevue. The Aquaman sequel is turning out to be worse than Jawan’s case. Fans have stopped expecting anything from the studios and instead have been waiting for the toy merchandise to get first looks of their favorite characters. Jason Momoa’s Arthur Curry and Amber Heard’s Mera, both have had their first looks leaked through toys, then why should Patrick Wilson’s Ocean Master be any different? Today, we have the first look of Orm from Aquaman 2 via a toy.
Orm’s Suit Is Much More Simpler In Aquaman 2!
Thanks to a Reddit post, we have the first look of Patrick Wilson’s Orm in Aquaman 2. The image reveals Orm wearing a dapper full-body combat suit with scaled-back purple and black, which is less comics-accurate but still practical and dangerous. It is certainly an improvement over Orm’s rustic and raggedy looks we got from Aquaman 2 set photos but I wonder whether the audiences will ever be treated to an iconic Ocean Master amor on full display.
Orm’s costume change could be due to his loss of titles and resources, leading to a more minimal and practical suit. The design and aesthetic of the suit matches with Black Manta’s costumes. It is hard not to think that both the villains will join forces against our beloved King of the Seven Seas in the sequel. The new suit also represents Orm’s hunger to regain his status and indicates that his rivalry with Aquaman will deepen in Aquaman and the Lost Kingdom.
