Aquaman 2 is the successor to the very successful Aquaman that released in 2018. It was one of the rare DC movies which was not critically bashed and performed amazingly at the box office. Aquaman was also one of the few DC movies to cross the $1 billion at the global box office. A sequel has been in the works for a long time but has been a victim of delays but it is a very important film as both Jason Mamoa’s and Aquaman’s future depends on it. It all depends upon the box office performance of the sequel, if it is good Momoa will continue as Aquaman in James Gunn and Peter Safran’s new DCU. If not, then he is all set to appear as Lobo so, it seems like a lot depends on Aquaman and the Lost Kingdom. Today we have some interesting news for the fans though!
Aquaman 2 Movie Trailer Leaked Description
As you may know, CinemaCon 2023 has officially begun and Warner Bros panel took the main stage on Tuesday. The attendees were showered with load of updates about upcoming WB projects like Dune 2 trailer, Joker 2 trailer, Furiosa (Mad Max) trailer, Blue Beetle footage, Barbie footage, and much more. Among all this, fans were also given a first look at the trailer for DCEU now DCU’s upcoming film Aquaman and the Lost Kingdom.
The trailer opened with Randall Park’s Dr. Stephen Shin & Yahya Abdul-Mateen II’s Black Manta attacking the surface world with some tentacles destroying a ship & Manta wielding a powerful Black Trident. We see Arthur raising a baby and talking to his father about it. In the full Aquaman suit, he is seen fighting underwater and wrestling with giant anchors. Aquaman is seen saying to his father, “I’m supposed to be a king. To bring the land and sea together. But now, I feel the tide shifting.”
Manta’s Black Trident has a power that “comes from a great evil.” The lighthouse home form Aquaman 1 is destroyed as Manta wreaks havoc all across. Arthur and Orm explore land and knock down statues to build bridges. Arthur talks to Orm and has to team up with him but Orm refuses to be called his brother. However, to stop Manta, they two have to work together. Their relationship gives off buddy-comedy vibes in the trailer, with Aquaman declaring “No one hits my brother but me!”
Also, Orm is seen being supportive of his brother too by saying “If you lead, Atlantis will follow.” The trailer also included a glimpse of Amber Heard’s Mera wearing a new white suit and ended Aquaman Black Manta Head to Head Fight!! We also get quick peek at Nicole Kidman who is returning as Atlanna who is involved directly in the action scenes. We also see armies who are ready to go to war!
