Aquaman 2 is the last of the DCEU movies left. After the sequel, James Gunn will take over office and start a new universe, which will hopefully be more coherent than the last. I don’t know whether it is because of the failure of the last three DC movies or what but Warner Bros. seems to have no interest in starting the marketing campaign for the sequel. Only 108 days are left before The Lost Kingdom debuts in theatres but we still haven’t gotten any official footage from the film. Fans are dependent on toy leaks from merchandise to get their favorite characters’ first looks. It is sad. However, this has also lead to an important discovery of the trailer’s release date. To find out, keep reading below:
Aquaman 2 Trailer Will Release Soon – Merch Embargo Reveals
On 28th August, we wrote an article about Jason Momoa’s first look from Aquaman and the Lost Kingdom courtesy of a toy leak from the official merchandise. Yesterday i.e., September 5th we received an email from media relations asking us to take down the article as the image of the toy in question is under copyright of Warner Bros. and Spin Master. Since, the images originating from ActionToyNow, are under embargo of the two entities mentioned above they don’t want the images to be out. This wasn’t it. There is more.
The mail also mentioned till what date the toyline is under embargo – October 1st. Now, generally merchandise like these are under embargo before the trailers released. Considering that the embargo lifts on October 1st, it means Aquaman and the Lost Kingdom’s trailer will either be released on that day or earlier than that. So, Aquaman 2 will finally get a trailer in the upcoming month. Considering DC’s pattern, they’ll announce about the trailer in advance and won’t drop it out of nowhere. So, stay tuned for further updates because one thing is for sure, the trailer can’t release after October 1st.
Aquaman and the Lost Kingdom is slated to release in theatres on 20th December 2023.
