Once Warner Bros. had great asset in the form of DC, I say once because it has now become a huge liability. The studio has endured three back to back box office disasters of growing proportions. The most recent one, The Flash has been labelled as the worst box office failure in superhero and the studio’s history. I mean after Black Adam, Shazam! Fury of the Gods and The Flash what is next for DC? As it turns out it is Aquaman and the Lost Kingdom. The film which made audiences walk out of the theatres during test screens. There is no hype around the film and it is most likely to be a box office dud. Apart from the supposed abysmal quality of the sequel, the addition of Amber Heard, Johnny Depp’s ex wife is not a good shade. The studio is aware of this and hence has chopped out some sequences involving the actress.
Aquaman 2 All Deleted Amber Heard Scenes Revealed!
A new report from Variety reveals that the rumors are indeed true and Warner Bros. is cutting Amber Heard scenes from the Aquaman sequel in order to keep the actress’ appearance in the film to a minimum. The outlet confirms that at least two sequences involving Heard were removed from Aquaman 2. The report also mentioned the details of the scene, one being an action scene with Mera taking on Black Manta (Yahya Abdul-Mateen II) and the other a loving moment with Arthur (Jason Momoa).
Another source told Variety that Jason Momoa has blocked Heard permanently on Instagram. While this is not confirmed but the actor has definitely unfollowed Heard (as it is public information) since past summer. This means that Mera will still appear in the and won’t be chopped off entirely as previous reports stated. We also got a few glimpses of her in the new Aquaman 2 trailer.
Aquaman and the Lost Kingdom is slated to release in theatres on 20th December 2023.
