We’re thankful for the new DC slate unveiled by James Gunn and Peter Safran as late as it came, it did clarify a lot of doubts that we had about DC’s future. I won’t comment on the quality of the slate because that would just annoy DC fans. There is now clarity about the new superheroes that we will see and also the future of many actors. However, as we know nothing is perfect. While providing us with many answers the slate does not answer some questions as well. The futures of actors like Ezra Miller, Zachary Levi, Gal Gadot and Jason Momoa are still unclear. In these at least Momoa’s case is much more sorted as there are only two possibilities. One – he plays Aquaman or two- he plays Lobo. Now thanks to the DC Heads we have more clarification about Momoa’s future.
Aquaman: Peter Safran Comments On Jason Momoa’s Future!
After announcing the new slate for DC, the co-CEOs have been busy with many press events where journalists and reporters have been barging them with questions, in one such event Peter Safran who is responsible to take care of the financial side of the DCU was quizzed about Aquaman actor Jason Momoa’s future at DC as it was not very clear from the presented slate. Safran gave an answer we already knew about also provided a deeper insight on the matter that does reveal some key information.
Safran answered, “Jason always thought Aquaman was a trilogy in his own mind. But he also loves Lobo. He’s been very clear about that, too. He’s never gonna play two characters, but no decision has been made.” James Gunn was also quick to follow up Safran’s answer where he assured the fans and the critics alike that this decision would be taken soon. Gunn reiterated, “will figure that out.” James Gunn at a separate event also assured Deadline about this matter to be taken seriously. He noted, “I will say we won’t have an actor playing two different roles.”
DCU’s next movie: Shazam! Fury of the Gods is slated to release in theatres on 17th March 2023.
