Black Adam Warner Bros. Removes Joss Whedon's JL Footage From New TV Spot!

Considering all the things that have been going on with DC or Warner Bros. like the controversy surrounding Ezra Miller, the cancellation of Batgirl, Shazam 2 and Aquaman 2 pushed to next year and Warner Bros.’ merger with Discovery, it seems like Black Adam is the only movie that is going in its favor. However, because of all the controversies, people’s attention has been diverted from the latest DC flick. Well, to guide them in the right direction, Warner Bros. released the final trailer of the film and it is amazing! The last update we got regarding the film was a report suggests that Black Adam has added some extra post credit scenes. The film features Dwayne Johnson as the titular anti-hero and will showcase his origin story. The trailer was pumping a lot of heart.

DC wants this film to do well so when they eventually do make Shazam and Black Adam fight it’ll be a spectacle. However, I’m unsure what a solo film to a potential villain means. I mean if Black Adam chooses to be the destroyer of the world at the end of the film to make his villainous arc complete, that’s a bummer note to end a film on. Or if they do the opposite where he chooses to be the survivor, why will Shazam and him fight? Shazam is clearly a hero figure. So that’s unclear to me. Black Adam is an adversary of Shazam portrayed by Zachary Levi in 2019’s Shazam. It is quite possible he makes a cameo in the film along with Henry Cavill’s Superman. To promote the film, Warner Bros. has been releasing new TV spots and today the released another one called “Legacy” and it got a lot of attention and trust me not for a good reason. They faced quite a lot of backlash.

Warner Bros. Faces Backlash For Black Adam TV Spot!

Black Adam’s new TV Spot “Legacy” has attracted a lot of unwanted attention from DC fans. The new TV spot that was uploaded in the morning had some bits and pieces from the Joss Whedon’s Justice League that released in 2017.  We’re all aware that the film was an absolute disaster but thankfully last year after years of campaigning, Warner Bros, released Zack Snyder’s original vision on HBO Max. It was a 4 hour long affair but it was worth it.

After we’d gotten the Snyder Cut, the hate regarding the Whedon version increased and the reports of Whedon blackmailing Gal Gadot didn’t help. So after Warner Bros, used the footage from Whedon’s Justice League and fans were pissed about it. Warner Bros. played it safe and corrected the TV Spot immediately as they added footage from Snyder’s Justice League instead. The TV spot now opens with shots of Cavill’s superman and Affleck’s Batman. However, Superman’s shot doesn’t feature Cavill’s face, only the suit.

When it comes to Batman, we only see the Bat Ring. With this I’m confused. One report says that Warner Bros. is rebooting and not following the Snyderverse but then we get promotional materials for their new releases and they have characters and shots from Snyderverse films. I’m not even sure anymore that which Justice League is canon for Warner Bros? I always thought it was Whedon’s but their quick retraction after the backlash seems like they’re quite comfortable with both. I think they’ll use both of them as per their advantage until they reboot their universe with a film like Flashpoint, however, I don’t know till what extent.
