What do you do when you have a half working in the ruins universe which still has a fan following but you have no direction where to take it as you’ve fired the only man who could’ve made it work. You take the pieces of the universe that work and make money off them till the audience is either exhausted or you start making bad movies movies. Eventually when you do indeed decide to reboot, you take a character from the existing universe and make a film around him only to cause a reboot that will potentially begin a new universe for you. Sound familiar? Well, that is Warner Bros. Discovery, who have been recently spotted with their axe, cancelling shows and movies left and right. If you got that then you definitely understood that I’m talking about The Flash.
So yeah, that is still happening. Despite everything Ezra Miller has been involved in, it seems like he has gotten a clean chit. We’ve hearing about the brand new trailer of the film debuting very soon and it is almost official that the trailer is coming early February. Now another source claims to give us the exact length of the trailer.
The Flash Trailer: How Much Will Be Shown?
Warner Bros. are set to return to the Super Bowl after so much time is a tactical decision as the Super Bowl LVII is taking place on 12th February 2023 which is just 5 days before the release of Marvel Studios’ Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania, this could be a deliberate move from the studio to drum up eagerness around the newly formed DCU and the movie as well. This might in turn result in drawing the audiences’ attention aside from the Marvel blockbuster.
Regardless, the trailer will apparently be 2 minutes and 25 seconds. This is according to an insider who has shared pre-marketing details in the past for other movies as well, accurately. The runtime of the trailer is similar to the new Shazam! 2 trailer that Warner Bros. released just a few days ago. The spot during the game only allows 30-60 seconds of footage to be played while the full trailer will be out online simultaneously. The lengthy trailer of The Flash does raise one concern for DC fans.
Many fans had complaints about the new Shazam! trailer as they claim it has shown us too much and we now know exactly what is going to happen in the film. The similar length of the trailer and Warner Bros. desperate attempt to bring back the dead hype of the film might push them to reveal too much in the first trailer which fans might not appreciate. Hopefully this won’t be the case.
Andres Muschietti (IT) will helm The Flash, and Christina Hodson (Birds of Prey, Batgirl) will pen the story. Additionally, it will feature the Bruce Wayne/Batman characters played by Ben Affleck and Michael Keaton, as well as Sasha Calle as Supergirl, Kiersey Clemons as Iris West, Ron Livingston as Henry Allen, Maribel Verdu as Nora Allen, Ian Loh as a young Barry Allen, and Saoirse-Monica Jackson and Rudy Mancuso in unspecified roles.
The Flash is slated for a theatrical release on June 23, 2023.
